God’s Word And Daily Prayer For Today

Here again we see the mind and love of God as he inspires the recording of his instructions for humanity as to how we demonstrate his personality in our everyday vocations. What we do is what defines us. We cannot please God yielding to the will of the flesh. It is important and imperative that we learn the desire of God by his word for believers and then embrace them and walk in them.

Here we learn another lesson in the importance of forgiveness. Paul urged the church to forgive the repentant brother and restore him. If the church will not forgive, Satan will get the advantage, and the church will not be reflective of the full purpose that it God intended.

Here we learn of apostle Paul defending and proving his Apostolic authority, and asserts his right to continue the work God charged him and was demonstrating that he was with him. Being led by the spirit of God in performance of the tasks he was commissioned.

Paul here is advising the Jews, the original chosen people of God that because they constantly rejected Him he for a while rejected them and began granting to gentiles the mercies that only the Jews had received. When the people that should have been happy that the Gentiles were also being filled with the Holy Ghost as well as they were some criticized Peter. He explained to them that God had done this and made it clear to him not to stand against it but to embrace it. With this clarity the true believers accepted with gladness God’s decision.

We learn here an example of godly wisdom. Jesus chose a man born blind and of a common life to perform a miracle. So we see here that socio-economic status in life doesn’t move God; but faith in him is what moves him. The chosen people of God, it seems, are the ones that complained and still complain about who, what, where, and how God chooses to demonstrate his love and compassion.

And even until these days our Lord Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, the propitiation for the sins humanity, that has provided opportunity to humanity to live life in abundance is still rejected. But woe to them that reject Him. Please don’t turn Him away!!

This is a demonstration of the power that God has made available to those that will live according to the will of God. How awesome it is that God has provided humanity with divine power but humanity continues to let Satan manipulate it to the point that we are where we are, spiritually. Isn’t it a shame what we, the people of God have access to and won’t use it or don’t qualify to use it?

Here we are in the New Testament era; but just like in the Old Testament, satan, the enemy of God is still at work. That is turning people away from following the plan of God. Jesus came to the chosen people of God and they rejected him. Here we find another warning from God to his people to maintain their obedience to his plan of salvation. God here reminds the people that they were following the wisdom of the generations before them. Robbing God by forsaking to follow his command of giving back to him, through the church, the tithe or the tenth and an offering of our earnings we are in disobedience.

Here we learn what love is and how love really works. God is allowing the prophet to tell the priest that even though his people are filthy in sin he will provide the opportunity to be washed clean from sin by the coming Messiah who will vouch for us against Satan before God.

Consistency is one of the greatest attributes of God. He always has warned before his sending destruction and devastation. Destruction and devastation would only visit the people of God after constant disrespect and and disobedience to him.

Again here we see the agape’ love if God at work . So let’s remember that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. What he has said to one has said to all. That is, in part at least, when God sends a warning for his people to correct and amend their ways by way of repentance and they fail he will send destruction.

This prophecy is a warning to those then and now, that took then and take advantage now of God’s people. Because they manipulated and illegally took possession of God’s people’s property and possessions they did then and will now reap what they have sown.

God is Omnipotent, God is Omnipresent, God is Omniscient. Though He has allowed the adversary to rise up and prevail against His people; because they are relentless in their oppression and think not that God will do anything about it; even when we sometimes feel that there is no help, God will come with His vengeance and indignation. Once more we learn of the agape’ love of God for his chosen people. As it was then even so it is now. Our day, this is the time that God is controlling his church by the Holy Ghost was prophesied to come. This time when all believers that love God, and are striving to demonstrate the heart and purpose of God to the world will be healed, delivered, made prosperous, and saved from sin and evil.

Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not? To me I see a wisdom here; that is, to obey is better than to sacrifice. God here demonstrated his love and compassion for his people; and for his servant Jonah. Both could have been destroyed. But because of repentance and obedience to the command of God both were spared.

God said then and we can believe that he is saying now; because he is God that cannot change; woe to the heathen or nonbelievers that won’t or don’t try to help the believer in a time of distress, but take advantage of the believer and mock them with boasting and bragging God is coming for you.

The wisdom and understanding that the people of God were warned about then is the same that we should give heed to Today. That is don’t think that just because God has allowed for much prosperity in life the prosperous believer is still required to conduct their lives in humility, compliance to scripture, and reverence for God. God hates even a proud look.

The wisdom we should garner from this excerpt of biblical history is, if humanity, but particularly the people of Christianity, would turn to God in unison, with singleness of heart with sincerity, repentance, and prayer, there is great possibility that the results God granted then could be granted to this generation.

We learn from this event in biblical history how when God has grown weary of tolerating rebellion and disobedience that he takes action. The controversy or argument that God had then and still today is that those that announce themselves as God’s representatives in the earth give greater heed to rudiments of the world and secular wisdom than adhering to God’s plan for his people.

Some wisdom that we should extract from this chapter of biblical history is that when we purpose in our hearts to, as the Apostle Paul was inspired by God to say to the Saints at the church in Ephesus, “Ye can not walk as other gentiles walk; in the vanity of your minds...”, then God will show us his favor as he did to the Hebrew brothers. God has not changed.

God was then and is now concerned about disrespect, disregard, and rebellion demonstrated by his people for Him after all he has done to deliver and prosper them. God instructed the prophet then what to say and not be afraid of opposition and left the wisdom of the message for us now to say to His people exactly what they don’t want to hear;

Here we see why we are having so much difficulty in almost every facet of our lives. It is very simply that after God blessed his people above many they turned away from God to the imaginations of their own hearts.
