First Issues NOW!

This is a very bad Spider-Man Noir book. It is, however, the best Peter Parker Spider-Man book I've read in years. Go figure.  SPIDER-MAN NOIR #1, written by Erik Larsen, art by Andrea Broccardo, colors by Rachelle Rosenberg, with letters by Joe Sabino.

Well, there's another reprint from X-Men From the Ashes, but at least one of them is really a good one-off story. Yes, obviously its the one with Beak.  REPRINTED FROM X-MEN FROM THE ASHES #19-25.

Well we're just right out the gate having Jed MacKay make me take back a lot of my snark huh? That's always a good thing.  X-MEN: AGE OF REVELATION OVERTURE #1, written by Jed MacKay, pencils by Ryan Stegman, inks by J.P. Mayer, colors by Edgar Delgado, with letters by Clayton Cowles.

Apparently this is the prologue for DC KO and... I have questions but ultimately had fun reading it.  JUSTICE LEAGUE: THE OMEGA ACT SPECIAL #1, written by Joshua Williamson, art by Cian Tormey, colors by Yasmine Putrie, with letters by Dave Sharpe.

The Absolute Universe has been brilliant and this issue adds a great depth to the upcoming trials for the heroes in a world of evil.  ABSOLUTE EVIL #1, written by Al Ewing, pencils by Giuseppe Camuncoli, inks by Stefano Nesi, colors by Romulo Fajardo Jr., with letters by Tom Napolitano.

Another installment into the Gotham Academy series and... it just doesn't click with me.  GOTHAM ACADEMY: FIRST YEAR #1, story by original creators Becky Cloonan, Brenden Fletcher, and Karl Kerschl. Script by Brenden Fletcher, art by Marco Ferrari, colors by Eva de la Cruz, with letters by Steve Wands.

Sammi decided to snipe Street Sharks from me this week. She liked it, I think. 

Ooh a single issue story for The Twilight Zone? Sweet. Definitely a good episode if it were an episode.  THE TWILIGHT ZONE #1, written by Dan Watters, art by Morgan Beem, with letters by Sandy Tanaka.

This is easily my favorite comic this week, what with the destruction of all warp cores and Agnes the Borg. Legit amazing.  STAR TREK: THE LAST STARSHIP #1, written by Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, art by Adrian Bonilla, colors by Heather Moore, letters by Clayton Cowles.

There's a few of these you can tell I was medicated when I write. Great book, sorry I focused on the discourse around the costume. Because yeah.  VAMPIRELLA: HALLOWEEN HORROR #1, written by Liam Johnson, art by Jordan Michael Johnson, colors by Michael Woods, and letters by Carlos G. Mangual.

One day, someone is going to make a list of all the things that I say I'm a mark for because, yes, I am a total mark for a wuxia Shaw Brothers kinda thing and James Stokoe delivers the best.  ORPHAN AND THE FIVE BEASTS: BATH OF BLOOD #1, written, illustrated and lettered by the creator, James Stokoe.

Dark Horse has the reins on He-Man fully so it's time for a relaunch! And hey, who better than Tim "I need to do everything" Seeley? Honestly though, it's really good.  HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE: THE SWORD OF FLAWS #1, script by Tim Seeley, art by Freddie E. Williams II, colors by Andrew Dalhouse, with letters by Andworld Design.

Kirkman let's the artist co-creator loose in a savage swords setting starring an orc-like tribe. Pretty sweet, all things told. SKINBREAKER #1, written by Robert Kirkman, art by co-creator David Finch, colors by Annalisa Leoni, with letters by Rus Wooton.

Yes, it does seem like if Joe Pruett is on a book, I often dig it, doubly so if there's a supernatural leaning.  VIKING MOON #!, written by Joe Pruett, art and colors by Marcelo Frusin, with letters by Joe Martin.

While I can easily say this is an ignorable book, it's REALLY fun and a good one-off adventure with a pretty interesting Hawkeye.  ULTIMATE HAWKEYE #1, written by B. Earl and Taboo, art by Michael Sta. Maria, colors by Alex Sinclair, with letters by Joe Sabino.

So does this count as Secret Wars IV or 3.5? Again, I really like the creative team even if I'm very very less than whelmed by the book.  BATTLEWORLD #1, written by Christos Gage, art by Marcus To, colors by Rachelle Rosenberg, with letters by Travis Lanham.

A murder thriller set on a melting land bridge between Russia and the US? Sure, I'll be there for that!  NO MAN’S LAND #1, created, written and drawn by Syzom Kudranski.

I know it's weird that I think of Dan Jurgens mostly for Superman, but damn, can he write a great Golden Age Batman.  THE BAT-MAN: SECOND KNIGHT #1, written by Dan Jurgens, art by Mike Perkins, colors by Mike Spicer, with letters by Simon Bowland.

Ooh the other of the big Dynamite Hanna Barbera comics I was looking forward to and frankly, it did not disappoint... even if I seem slightly overly negative. For the first time, I didn't actually mean that.  THE BLUE FALCON AND DYNOMUTT #1, written by Jimmy Palmiotti, art by Pasquale Qualano, colors by Jorge Sutil, with letters by Jeff Eckleberry.

I'm a sucker for dieselpunk so perfect answer to not just restarting X-O Manowar in a normal setting. Love it!  VALIANT BEYOND: THE X-O MANOWAR #1, written by Steve Orlando, art by Guillermo Fajardo, colors by Lautaro Ftuli, flats by Ludwig Olimba, with letters by Ezequial Inverni.

Nothing makes me feel younger than reading a rebooted comic version of a show I had on take when I was 3. Still, really good comic. WILD WEST C.O.W.-BOYS OF MOO MESA #1, written by Matt Hotson, art by Juan Gedeon, colors by Carlos Cabrera, with letters by Jeff Powell.

I promise that me never having been a pubescent girl but it's stil really good.  FLOW #1 written by Paula Sevenberger, art by Claudia Balboni, colors by Fabi Marques, with letters by Jodie Troutman.
