I mean two fantastic stories in a quick little package? I can't ever hate on some horror in between my day to day stuff. Love it. 

How the hell was that so amazing?! I mean it was. Seriously wow, epic.  MAGIC: THE GATHERING: UNTOLD STORIES - ELSPETH #1, written by Dan Watters, art by Owen Gieni, colors by Hilary Jenkins, with letters by Clayton Cowles.

I never thought about an action-adventure Star Wars book being in black and white before. But boy howdy, throw in some red and it all makes sense.  STAR WARS: BOBA FETT: BLACK, WHITE AND RED #1, written by Benjamin Percy, pencils by Chris Allen, inks by Chris Allen & Craig Yeung, colors by Rachelle Rosenberg, with letters by Joe Caramagna.

Why yes, this is an event of a book that everyone should own at least one copy of. I do not want to talk about how many of these covers I have.  There's SO MANY CREATORS IN THIS I CAN'T LIST THEM ALL! 

I'm intrigued and this is a good step one to get me onboard but there needs to be more here. VALIANT BEYOND: ALL-NEW HARBINGER #1, written by Fred Van Lente, art by Erik Tamayo, colors by Brushu Studio and Gabriel Roldan, Ludwig Olimba on flats, with letters by Ezequiel Inverni.

I've been itching for a new supernatural slasher that isn't just 'we couldn't get the rights to one of the big names' so YES! This is the best I've read this season... I say before October when most of the big shots come out.  IT KILLED EVERYONE BUT ME #1, written by Ryan Parrott, art by Letizia Cadonici, colors by Alessandro Santoro, with letters by Taylor Esposito.

It's the 25th anniversary of Powers and that makes me feel old and really gets me into thinking about how modern audiences react to books that don't follow the "company standard".  POWERS 25 #1, written by Brian Michael Bendis, art by Michael Avon Oeming, colors by Nick Filardi and letters by Josh Reed.

Wow, I haven't thought about Nocturnals in a while but I'm really glad I got this one physical.  NOCTURNALS: THE SINISTER PATH #1, written and illustrated by Dan Brereton, with letters by Lois Buhali

This is a really great encapsulation of what I really liked about the Expanded Universe back when Phantom Menace came out and there was a massive focus on fleshing out Anakin as a padawan before his big turbulent teens.  STAR WARS: TALES FROM THE NIGHTLANDS #1, written by Cavan Scott, art by Soo Lee, with letters by Tyler Smith and Jimmy Betancourt.

What can I really say other than this is spectacular and amazing.  C.O.R.T: CHILDREN OF THE ROUND TABLE #1, written by Tom Taylor, art by Daniele, Di Nicuolo, colors by Rain Beredo, with letters by Wes Abbott.

So this is the best Red Hood solo comic that's ever happened. And now you at home can't buy it and they scrapped issues 2 and 3. Wild. Go bug DC about that.  RED HOOD #1, written by Gretchen Felker-Martin, art by Jeff Spokes, with letters by Becca Carey.

I should not have read this comic after certain events made me heated. I don't take back what I said, I just say I could have been nicer.  X-MEN OF APOCALYPSE ALPHA #1, written by Jeph Loeb, art by Simone Di Meo, with letters by Richard Starkings and Tyler Smith.

Danny Rand is back from the dead and... well... he glow-punches people possessed by demons. That might be fun for some people.  THE UNDEAD IRON FIST #1, written by Jason Loo, art by Fran Galan, colors by Jim Campbell, with letters by Travis Lanham.

Holy hell, something really interesting happened to the character this is named for. AND A PLOT RELEVANT TWIST HAPPENS! I mean it's good to actually be interested in the story finally.  IMPERIAL WAR: NOVA: CENTURION #1, written by Jed McKay and Jonathan Hickman, art by Matteo Della Fonte, colors by Yen Nitro, and letters by VC’s Cory Petit.

Sam sniped the new Star Trek comic from me, but she likes it. She really likes it.  Also check Sam and AJ out on Mything 15 Minutes, Killing 15 Minutes and Blanking 15 Minutes. 

Boy howdy, was this review cursed. Started right after I spent two days on a roof, and in the middle of recording, a historic assassination happened. Yep. Anyways, the comic's good. You should read it.  OZ: THE TABLET OF DESTINIES #1, written by Dave Wohl, art by Massimiliano La Manno, colors by Robby Bevard, with letters by Taylor Esposito.

James Robinson and Phil Hester go off with Captain Nemo and epic adventure? SOLD!  THE ADVENTURES OF LUMEN N. #1, script by James Robinson, pencils by Phil Hester, inks by Marc Deering, colors by Bill Crabtree, with letters by Jim Campbell.

With a new movie coming out Sept 19th, now is a perfect time for me to read a comic and now really like the premise and universe and buying the rest. Oh well.  AFTERBURN: BAD BLOOD #1 written by Scott Chitwood, art by Etienne Derepentigney, colors by Ronda Pattison, with letters by Troy Peteri.

I really wish they didn't call it Exiles and I wish I cared about Charles Xavier or the Shi'ar Empire.  IMPERIAL WAR: EXILES #1, written by Steve Foxe, art by Francesco Manna and Davide Tinto, colors by Erick Arciniega, with letters by Clayton Cowles.

There's very few zombie books that hit home this well.  EVERYTHING DEAD AND DYING #1, written by Tate Brombal, art by Jacob Phillips, colors by Pip Martin, with letters by Aditya Bidikar.

A really nice one-and-done story of apocalyptic love and music a song by The Carpenters.  CLOSER #1, written by Kieron Gillen, art by Steve Lieber, colors by Tamra Bonvillain, with letters by Clayton Cowles.

I mean it's a good read and I really wish Han Solo had this same youth in anything from the Sequels.  STAR WARS: HAN SOLO - HUNT FOR THE FALCON #1, written by Rodney Barnes, art by Ramon Rosanas, colors by Guru-eFX, with letters by Joe Caramagna.

I miss when Mausvel would at least pretend their cash-grab series were handled better. How did you NOT bring back John Semper, Jr. as even just a consultant? OR EVEN JUST TEXT THE DUDE!?  SPIDER-MAN ‘94 #1, written by J.M. DeMatteis, art by Jim Towe, colors by Jim Campbell, with letters by VC’s Joe Caramagna.

It wasn't the biggest bang to start the new direction but it is exactly what it needed to be and I love it for that.  BATMAN #1 written by Matt Fraction, art by Jorge Jimenez, colors by Tomeu Morey, with letters by Clayton Cowles.

If I had read Future State, this would have been a 10/10, I just have that feeling.  ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN: BOOK OF EL #1, written by Phillip Kennedy Johnson, art by Scott Godlewski, colors by Alex Guimaraes, with letters by Dave Sharpe.
