2 Samuel 6: David’s pursuit of the presence of God teaches us how joy appears when God draws near.

Tonight we partake of the Lord's Supper. All of us must drink from a cup. Which cup will you choose?

Mark 1:9-13: // The sermon explores various wilderness journeys of scripture, beginning with the temptation of Jesus. A some point, God leads us all on a wilderness journey.

Isaiah 35: Continuing our search for joy in the Old Testament, we learn from Isaiah’s prophecy of blooms in the desert, strength for the weak, and a highway of holiness.

Mark 5:11-20 // The story culminates not with escape, but with commission, as Jesus sends the healed man back as a living witness. A terrified town sends Jesus away, but a man once bound goes home to tell a new story.

Esther 7:1-10:3: The book of Esther teaches us how the unseen hand of God can carry us in to joy.

Galatians 2:20: In response to his disagreement with Peter, Paul implores the people of Galatia to find their lives in Christ. To understand that if they are crucified with Christ, they will rise with Christ to a new life in Him.

Mark 5:1-10: This two-week series in Mark 5 traces Jesus’ journey into the most broken and avoided places of human life, where isolation and despair seem to have the final word. Jesus steps into the brokenness that others avoid and exposes our need for His restoring authority.

Philippians 2:5-11 : To faithfully perform the gospel in our own lives, we need to study the script. Discover who this Jesus is, and you’ll discover who our God is.

Habbakuk 3:16-19: The prophet’s poem invites us to a joy that is rooted in God’s faithfulness in the midst of all the life brings.

1 Samuel 30: God does not give based on our merit; God gives based on His grace. We are to follow His generosity with our own.

Philippians 2:1-4: We’ve been cast in the drama of the gospel. So, think like a cast-member, and let all your living be Jesus-shaped.

1 Samuel 28: God refused to speak to Saul, yet He is still ready to speak to you. Do you have ears to hear?

1 Samuel 25; Psalm 14: Abigail saves David from himself, from his rage, and directs him back to follow the Lord who has called and anointed him. We all need someone to save us from ourselves.

1 Samuel 24: Love your enemies. David forgave Saul, who sought to kill him. Jesus forgave the very ones who crucified Him. And you, whom have you forgiven?

Malachi 4:2-3; Luke 1:67-79: We conclude our Advent series by learning how Jesus fulfills Malachi’s promise that a new day will dawn with the coming of the sun of righteousness.

1 Samuel 21-22 (also Psalm 52): We come to sanctuary out of desperation (David) or we come to sanctuary for manipulation (Doeg)

Matthew 9:27-31; 2 Samuel 7; Matthew 21:1-11: Our advent series brings us to meet Jesus as the “Son of David” alongside the blind beggars in Matthew’s gospel, discovering the true King whose mercy brings healing.

1 Samuel 18:6-30; 19:1-24: Envy and jealousy are poison to our souls. Saul was possessed by the poison of being envious of David, his loyal servant.

Daniel 7:13-14; Mark 14:62; Mark 10:35: In week 3 of our advent series, we explore the title Jesus most frequently gave to himself, “Son of Man,” and how he redefines this ancient role for our salvation.

Proverbs 2: God longs to give wisdom to those willing to receive it. Yet ultimately, the real treasure is God Himself.
