The Christmas season doesn't always come with joy and peace. On the very first Christmas, Mary and Joseph found themselves in a tough situation. They were poor, dirty, tired from traveling hundreds of miles, and about to give birth to a baby in stable full of animal poop. God's promise, however, was to be with them, and His promise is the same for us as we go through seasons of difficulty. 

We all know a Cousin Eddy in our family, and we've all had Cousin Eddy moments in our lives. Let this Christmas season be a reminder that God came to earth to save imperfect people like you and me. From the manger to the cross, God's grace extends to all people and knows no conditions. May you be filled with the Christmas spirit as you listen. 

We hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! This morning, Rich Teske talks about who we are in Christ and the fact that we are twice His – God created us in His image, and even though sin separated us from Him, He bought us back with the blood of Jesus. A life in Christ is one that exists in community with others, as God has called us to witness the good news of Jesus to each other.

To close this series on stewardship, Craig reveals God's command in Scripture to tithe and give. God has wired us, even physically, to receive and then give back. Just as we breathe, we shouldn't keep God's blessings to ourselves, but instead trust God to bless and reward us as we balance our financial well-being upon Him.

While going into debt isn't sinful, it cripples faith by taking control of our lives. Society accepts debt as a normal consequence of living, but God calls us to create margin in our budget and to save so that we can be ready to face financial obstacles. When we do the things that some people won't, we can eventually do the things some people can't. 

Today is the start of a new, three-week series called Balanced! In this series, we'll be talking about how God calls us to balance material possessions and financial wealth with our faith in Jesus. Craig reminds us this morning how God gives us everything we need for everything He calls us to do.

As we get ready for the election results on Tuesday, Craig gives us an important reminder that God is sovereign, no matter who is elected President. Our faith in Jesus and our identity in Him must come before our patriotism. Join in for a much needed message on faith and American politics.

Our Local Outreach Minister, Josh Cooper, encourages us today to adopt a missional attitude toward lost people. Statistics show that 3.1 billion people have never heard the name of Jesus. As followers of Jesus, we can't claim Jesus as Lord and not do what He says to do. Jesus gave us the Great Commission for a reason, but how we obey it is up to us.

There's plenty of practical wisdom James offers in Chapter 5 of his writing, but Craig narrows in on his warning to not grumble, and more than that, to be thankful in all circumstances, since that is God's will for us in Christ Jesus. God uses gentleness to reach people and restore relationships. In a world of opposition and divide, people don't respond to anger. People respond to an outward display of "strength under control", the way Jesus interacted with sinners....

God is a faithful Father, providing us strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow.
