So we've had vampires, and we've had werewolves. We've tossed in some fairy creatures and demons. Now? Time for ghosts! Oh, and while we're at it, let's be sure to bring along a bunch of those other creatures too. I mean, the more the merrier, right?. As we dig into Book 3 of The Dresden Files, we also get to meet Michael Carpenter, one of the most awesome characters of all time. Really - we think...

Werewolves!!! Jim Butcher moves into Book 2 of The Dresden Files, building on the world he introduced in Storm Front, but now adding a few new elements. Werewolves are undeniably the best addition, but until you read this, you truly can't comprehend how far in Butcher chooses to go. Heck of a ride! Here's that great website for knowing where to fit the short stories in amongst the novels:  ht...

Just one chapter for you today, because it's a big one. In length, yes, but also in series impact. There is SO MUCH LAID OUT HERE! We just HAD to give enough time to discuss this all. Hope you enjoy! (And wait until next time, when we try to pack the NEXT THREE CHAPTERS into just one episode. Oh boy.)Zach lost his sound at one point about 21 minutes in, but got it back fairly quickly. Darn you, te...

Jim gets going with the first of his solo episodes, leaving Zach behind as he digs into The Dresden Files. Not that he wants to ditch Zach - It's just that Zach has more of a life than Jim, and Jim can't want to talk about this series (which Zach hasn't yet begun). This is a FULL SPOILER episode, so if you haven't read Storm Front yet, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR??? Go read it, then come back for thi...

Jim's been a big fan of Riftwar for many years. The Cycle, over 30 books, wrapped up just a couple years ago, decades of classic fantasy material. But should you read it? Will YOU like it? Will Zach, who hasn't read ANY of it yet? Jim and Zach take a look at this series together, with Jim not only making a case for you, but for his son. Come check it out! We've seen what others are doing. Perrin, Loial, Faile and friends off through the Ways, headed to The Two Rivers. Nynaeve and Elayne off to Tanchico along with Thom and Juilin. All were chased out of Tear by some earthquake/boat rocking tsunami causing type of event. Today, let's see what Rand was up to, and where it takes him and those still unaccounted for. Do I see a Mat? How about Egwene? May...

It's time to introduce in a major way another key player of the peoples of this Age, the Sea Folk. They've been referenced multiple times, but in these chapters, we're going to get up close and personal. And there are surprises that may blow you away! It's about time people started leaving Tear, don't you think? And in this episode, it begins - first with significant decisions being made the set people's directions, and then seeing people actually beginning the Ways they will go. Join us on Discord: https://discord.gg/jMWyVJ6qKkSupport us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/FantasyForTheAgesCheck out our merch:  https://www.newcreatio...

That's right, four freakin' chapters for you this time. Relatively speaking, they are short chapters, so it's really about our usual length of content. But this is some powerful stuff, that felt right going together. Lots of decisions get made her, some things get said, and there's something about a doorway. Epic impacts coming from what we cover here! #wheeloftime #WoT #The Shadow Rising #fantasy...

Here's another Midweek Special in our "To Read or Not to Read" series, as we go into our thoughts on Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings." Even with this, we'll still stick to our "spoiler-lite" format™. If you somehow have never encountered this series, and completely avoided the movies and their impact on our culture, you can count on us not to ruin the series for you! #fantasy #LOTRJoin us on Disc...

The World of Dreams, Tel'aran'rhiod, played a pretty significant role in our previous book, The Dragon Reborn. But where has it been in this one? We fix that in this book, in a mighty significant way, with events occurring that drive big change for the series. Jim & Zach dig into two more chapters. We get to see Moiraine lose her cool, while Elayne just loses her mind. And we'll see what happens when oil and water mix as Rand, Egwene, and Elayne try to explore instruction in male channeling. But perhaps the best is the end, as Rand bravely faces rejection from one love to open new possibilities. Well, sort of. Listen and see! Video version of this e...

It's time to kick off the 4th book of The Wheel of Time! And the best place to start is with Min, who pretty much disappeared after the beginning of our previous book. We pick up with her arriving in Tar Valon, and intrigue and politicking begin once again! But we'll also have time to look in on a few other characters, to see what else has been going on around the world. Great way to jump start an...
