    The Parable of the Treasure hidden in a field asks the question, "What is this treasure?" That is what our Lord wants us to ask. Jesus tells the parable of the Wheat and the Tares and then provides the meaning to His disciples. This is an end-time parable with theological significance. Both Paul and Timothy greet the church in Philipi. The church in Philippi was founded by the apostle Paul on his second missionary journey, recorded in Acts 16:1-40. Paul went to Macedonia because of a night vision described in Acts 16:9. In it Paul saw a man of Macedonia standing and asking that he come over to help them.    

THe parable of the fig tree in the Gospel of Luke is a kingdom parable about the relationhip of Israel on the Gospel. For three years Jesus preached that the kingdom was coming and that people needed to repent and embrace the Kingdom. We embrace the Kingdom of God when we embrace the Son of God. Which is harder, "Children obey your parents" or 'Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." Interesting how we often don't understand this simple yet elegant plan for our families.

Jesus is wrapping up his answer about his return. The parable of the Talents has lots of applications however we should be sure to understand the clear meaning that all of us are accountable for the gifts, the talents, the opportunities that we are given. Don't waste your life!
