As an under-shepherd, a pastor’s sole aim should be to please the Good Shepherd. So how can leaders in the church—and all of us—be “good servants”? This week we dive into Paul’s instructions in 1 Timothy 4:6-10 and learn about the key practices of godliness that should mark the life of a faithful minister.

If salvation is personal, what is the purpose of the corporate church? The Apostle Paul gives us insight regarding this relevant question in 1 TImothy 3:14-16 and his description of the church of the living God and the truth it supports, the “mystery of godliness.”

Philippians 1:12-18

God will bring to completion the work of grace that he started in us.

We learn from God's Word in James about how to pray in our life when we have times of troubles and trials. We are to have a patient persevering faith. We are to pray for one another, confess our sins to others, and help each other in our times of need.

We need to be unstained from the world. James gives warning to the rich and warning and encouragement for those who are suffering. We are to persevere patiently, peaceably, and joyfully as we wait for our vindication.

A lack of trust of God and in His ways, leads to quarrels among the body and tension in our relationship with God.

Words do affect other people. We are to watch what we say and seek wisdom from above in what we are speaking and saying to others.
