Faith Bible Church

Here is our first look at the church in Thessalonica seen through the lens of Paul's letter titled 1 Thessalonians. The Thessalonian church wasn't guaranteed to make it, in fact Paul had his doubts. Through some epic struggles but with strong faith this church made some real impacts in their community. This should be an encouragement to us all.

What makes you sit up and say "this is living!"? A time of celebration maybe. A time of advancement or maybe a time of sweet peace. I bet we don't say "this is living!" when we are having a hard time or going through a trial. The Apostle Paul is going to take us into his little secret on what he thought was the good life. Hint, hint, it starts with Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:12-21

Jens brings a special message from 1 John 4 on the topic of love. God is love and so we can share that love with others. The question is will we take up the challenge?

In our final look at the letter to the Galatian church, we find Paul giving a final direct plea as well as an encouraging message for the church body. Unity, compassion, love for one another, support, correction, and provision are some of the topics he will pack into this tight little section. Galatians 6:1-10

Fruit or Work. Which one sounds more appealing? Paul is going to take us through how much work we have to put in if we are going to walk in the flesh versus what it means to produce fruit because of the power of the Holy Spirit. Being fruit is a lot less burdensome. Galatians 5:16-26

Christ has made us free! That is great news. But that freedom might mean something different than what we expect or are used to. Paul takes us through the freedom that Christ gives and what that means for our lives. Passage - Galatians 5:1-15

Paul takes us back to Abraham and a struggle that he went through because he tried to work through his own power to fulfill the promises that God had given him. Again, Paul takes us to Abraham to compare slavery to religion versus freedom in Christ. Galatians 4:8-31

It's the last week of Advent so Christmas is near. What a great time to be reminded about the true freedom we have in Jesus Christ. Not only are we found not guilty because of sin, but we have been given a new family. Let's walk with Paul as he lays out what it means to be adopted sons and daughters of God. Galatians 3:26-4:7

Paul is going to continue to tie our faith to the example of Abraham in the Old Testament. But now he is going to show us the Law's place in all of this. Do you follow the rules or don't you. Paul lays it out here in Galatians 3:10-26.

Paul is going to take us up three different mountains in Galatians 3. The Promises of Abraham, the Mosaic Law, and the Mountain pointing to Jesus. Today we are going to look at the righteousness that Abraham found through faith in God. Galatians 3:1-9

In Chapter 2 of the book of Galatians, Paul tells a fascinating story about two ways that the church isn't reflecting the example of Jesus. Working through legalism and working through hypocrisy. But then Paul shows us how we are free because of our faith in Jesus Christ.

The time we live in could be described as discouraging. But the reality is this is where we are. So, how will we respond? Do we stay in our discouragement or do we take a new path? Jesus gives us the option for a new path! Luke 24:13-35

You have a testimony. You have a story to share with the world. The Apostle Paul was very open about his own story and that is where we are today. We are going to look at his life before Jesus, the grace in his conversion, and his life after that glorious event. He had a story and so do we. Are we ready to share that story of freedom with others?

Paul starts out his letter to the Galatians with guns blazing. He gets straight to the point and doesn't hold back. Paul asks them why they have given up, why they have listened to a false gospel, and why they think he is just a people pleaser. He says pay attention because we are going to get these details all worked out. Galatians 1:6-10

It's time to talk politics! We are exploring a political issue that the church of Galatia was facing and also talking about the political experience we are having today. Galatians 6:11-13

Today we start Galatians. This is a book packed full of what it means to find our sufficiency in Jesus Christ. Paul takes this short but intense letter to remind the church of the basic truths of the Gospel message. Today we are in Galatians 1:1-5, 6:11-18

In this final week on the greatest commands given by Jesus, we take a look at loving our enemies. Before you turn this off and say no way, maybe take a journey with us in an encounter that Jesus had with one of his nation's biggest enemies. Mark 12 and Matthew 8 this week

We always talk about how critical families are to the health of our country. The problem is when we cast our eyes out wide but neglect to take care of those who are nearest to us. It's easy to blame a world that looks like it is crumbling apart but Psalm 128 is going to remind us that it starts with how we take care of our own family.

Todays message centers on the text of Romans 14. The ancient church struggled with divisions when it came to food and meeting days. We might not struggle with the same issues, but there are divisions over opinion still in the church today. What are they and how do we love on brothers and sisters that might have different convictions than we do? Join in the conversation.

Jesus loves the church and so should we. If you are part of the Body of Christ then it is our calling and mission to love those around us. Let's take a quick peek at Romans 12 and see what Paul says about loving the church and loving as the church. 

What does it mean when Jesus says that we should love our neighbor as ourselves? Should we love ourselves? Does how we treat our neighbors depend on how we treat ourselves? Let's dive into Mark 12 as well as a few other passages as we see what it means to love ourselves and how that plays out in the rest of our relationships.
