FBC's Deacon Austin is going to take us through a journey about what it means to trust in the Lord and see his faithfulness. Austin himself has experiences physical trials over the last year and he is going to relay what the Lord has been doing in his life as well as help us take a look at 1 Chronicles 29:10-13 a prayer of King David.

Today we are taking a look a the warrior woman Deborah. She lived during a unique time and was a unique leader for the nation of Israel. As God is delivering the nation from another round of bondage He uses Deborah as his chosen guide for the nation. Take a look today at Judges 4-5.

Today we take a peek at 2 Samuel 11. The time when David fell to temptation. We are all human, like David, and we have a lot to learn from David and his struggle. Join in as we take a look at what it means to repent and be forgiven by a loving God.

We American's live in the land of the free and the home of the brave, but what does it mean to be free? Can I do whatever I want, or live however I want? Let's take a look at David and see how he used his freedom when he had to make some tough choices. 1 Samuel 24

What does it mean to be a disciple? Elijah called Elisha to follow in his footsteps and in 2 Kings 2 we see the handing off of the baton (mantle).

What does being King of the Castle mean? Does it mean power, authority, demanded respect? Maybe when God set up the family maybe He didn't set men up to be the King of the Castle in that often abusive way. Fatherhood is so much bigger and better than any stereotype. Father's keep your eyes turned toward your family. Seek out the best. Proverbs 31 

Acts 9:10-19 - Sometimes God asks us to walk through a door and we don't know what's on the other side. This was the case for Ananias as Jesus asked him to go and minister to a Christian hater. What would Ananias find, a Saul who still had murder in his heart for those who followed Jesus or a man whose heart had been changed?

We all have to make choices in life about how we will treat other people. Sometimes it's so easy to get wrapped up in our own world that we don't recognize that there is a world that is hurting and struggling all around us. Today we take a look at what oppression looked like for a people long ago. Funny thing is attitudes often don't change over time.

Happy Birthday Church! This is what happened way back when during a certain Pentecost celebration. Jesus had died, rose again, and ascended to the Father all so that the church could be born. You are part of God's great big family!

Today we end our journey through James. And boy does he have a big challenge for us as he finishes up this letter. What do we do when someone strays from the faith? Let's tune in to see.

James 5:13-18. James starts to close his letter talking about prayer. Persistent prayer, anticipation in prayer, and faithful prayer. James pulls in a famous story from a Testament of the past to talk about prayer for our day and age.

James has a pretty straight forward message when it comes to oaths and promises. He stresses the important of telling the truth and keeping the promises we make to one another. 

Do you struggle with patience? If we are honest I'm sure we would all say yes to some extent. James is going to talk about living a patient life as we wait for the Day of the Lord. Join in as we explore what it means to have patience as we walk through life.

Money can be used for good and it can be used for selfish reasons. James is going to confront a group of folks who were exploiting others and building little kingdoms for themselves. You may say "well I'm not rich so this doesn't apply to me". We know that all Scripture is God-breathed and so is edifying and beneficial to us all. We like to make plans. Big plans, little plans, it doesn't matter we just like to plan out our lives. The problem can be when we leave God out of those plans. James is going to show us how futile it is not to seek after the will of the Lord as we live our daily lives.

Easter Sunday. It's a day of celebration because our Lord and Savior has risen from the dead. Jesus is his name!

James is going to talk to us about what toxic relationships look like. There is a lot packed into these two verses. Join us Sunday as we dive in to this tough but necessary passage of Scripture.

James is writing to a church that is at war with itself instead of the real enemy the Devil. He tells then that the way they are acting comes from selfish hearts and that they are being unfaithful to God. Very strong words. He asks them to take sin seriously and we should do the same today.

James is concerned that our lives reflect our walk with the Lord. If we say that we are following Him, yet we don't live it do we really have faith? James is going to tell us that we need to seek the wisdom that God wants to provide.

James talks a lot about what it means to work out your faith. This is the chapter where he makes a strong case for faith without works being dead. Does our life measure up to the faith that we profess? We stand at a critical junction as a church. Those questions and more will be addressed in this message.

We may play favorites but God doesn't. Isn't that great news! James gives us a look at what a certain church was doing to cater to the rich while neglecting the poor. He says this is not how the Body of Christ is to act. The Kingdom of God doesn't operate that way and if we are Kingdom people we shouldn't either.

James gets right to the point of the matter. Do we take our calling through the Gospel of Jesus Christ seriously, or do we just give it lip service. Taking it seriously means that we ask the questions, what does Jesus have for me to do today. And then we do it! Don't settle for being a hearer, go out and be a doer.

James has a lot to say about living a holy life, but before he gets into that he has us pause and ponder a simple but profound truth. We as the Body of Christ are the first fruits of His new creation. We don't live a holy life by just abiding by rules. We live a holy life by living in the freedom that Christ has provided for us. A freedom to do good and honor God.

A man in dire need of help finds healing and salvation through Jesus because of he and of his friends faith.
