God wants to renew His church. He is always moving forward and has asked His people to move with Him. Mathew 16:13-18

Is everyone invited into the family of God? The answer is yes, and since that is so how do we deal with those who we aren't comfortable with. How do we invite those in who are broken or outside of your circle. Can the rich and the sick all worship together? YES! Jesus gave us the example Luke 7:36-50

Paul ends his letter to the church with a prayer for them, and a call to prayer for him. He also reminds them that God is working to sanctify them, even as they wait. The act of sanctification is meant to affect our whole person: spirit, soul, and body. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-28.

As Paul starts to close his letter to the church in Thessalonica he encourages them to be mindful of some healthy practices as a church. Be mindful of your leaders. Be mindful of your brothers and sisters. Be mindful of your own spiritual health. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-22

Paul was concerned that the Thessalonian church was not going to "leave well". They had their eyes set on Jesus (which is a good thing), but some of them had started to neglect the responsibilities they had in this present world. 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12

Paul couldn't get himself to the city of Thessalonica. In the last section of Scripture he writes that Satan is actually hindering him. Something is stalling him out, but he is not satisfied. So, what does he do? He sends Timothy. Timothy could go where Paul could not. We will unpack that as well as the idea of encouraging those in our circle of influence. 1 Thessalonians 3:1-5

Paul gives us his heart as a pastor. He cares for those who he has helped grow in Christ. In this passage we hear Paul's desire to come see them, but he is being stopped on all sides. His love never ceases though. 1 Thessalonians 2:17-20

What do we believe about the Word of God? Do we even believe that He has spoken to us? The church in Thessalonica had to wrestle with these questions. In the end, they trusted that God's word is true and can be trusted, and it transformed the way they lived their life. Will God's word have the same effect on us today?

Today we will be tackling 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12. Paul is giving us his story and through it, he is telling us what it looks like to "Get in the Game". Paul was committed to his mission because he had his eyes focused on Jesus and knew that he had been entrusted to take that message to the world around him.

This is our second week in the book of 1 Thessalonians. Paul is going to open up his letter with a lot of praise for what this new church is accomplishing. They were under intense persecution but yet they still stayed faithful to the Gospel. This week we see a testimony of how they are living their lives! 1 Thessalonians 1:2-10
