God's grace produces humility, which produces unity and joy. The letter to the church at Philippi gives us the greatest example of humility we will ever know.

our commitment to each other helps our relationships grow. The same can be said of our relationship to Christ.

What do you imitate? How does that affect your life? Paul calls us to imitate him while he imitates Christ. How we apply that today is by finding someone who imitates Christ and imitate them.

In Philippians 3 Paul gives us his resume for why he of all people should have confidence that his works produced righteousness. Then he calls it all a pile of garbage. It is as if he burns his resume in order to understand God's grace.

After explaining the importance of humility Paul gives three examples.

After urging the church in Philippi to be united Paul explains how-to live-in unity, then gives the greatest example.

What do you live for? Is life about comfort or do you live for a different purpose? How you answer those questions will greatly affect your outlook on life.

God uses crooked sticks to draw straight lines. This should give us all grace and hope. Grace for other Christians we deem as wrong. Even in their error God can still use them. Hope, because if we are all being honest, we are crooked sticks.

What are some obstacles to sharing the gospel? How can we live in a way to remove those obstacles?

God has an assignment for you. God has a purpose for your life. You are called the light of the world, are you shining?

Who is on the throne of your life?

John writes so that we can have confidence in our salvation.

Is there any evidence for Jesus as the Christ? If John was to call someone to the witness stand who would he call? That is what 1 John 5:6-12 is all about.

Does the weight of the world feel overwhelming? Are your burdens weighing you down? Jesus has given us the victory over the world and its oppressive system. The operating system of God, a system of grace, is not burdensome. John invites us to live in the victory of Christ.

After John writes about false teachers, his audience might want to fight them. John reminds us that we are to operate out of love. That we don't need to fear, because God's love drives out fear.

With all the talk in 1 John about antichrists, we can begin to feel overwhelmed. We know there are many false prophets in the world today. How can we have confidence? John gives us encouragement: greater is He who is in you, than he who is in the world. (disclaimer: we did have some issues with the audio for this sermon)

Have you ever felt like a loser Christian? Like every week you fail Christ? Like you are just one big disappointment to God? If your heart condemns you, God is greater!

How do you react when confronted about sin? Do you justify or repent? Do you turn or continue in your sin? How you react gives evidence as to who you belong to.

How do you identify a counterfeit?

What is the difference between knowing about God and knowing God? How can you know God better, not just know about God better?

When you think of love and hate do you think of emotion? Is there more to love and hate than an intense feeling of affection or repulsion? To hate others means to walk in the darkness. To love others means to walk in the light. The only way we can love how God has called us to love is to be plugged into the very source of love.
