Jesus reminds us that the love that sent Him to the cross is the same love that should compel us to love one another in all ways.

Abraham reminds us that our future is tied to our obedience to God today, and God will often require our obedience to show us where our love for Him truly lies.

Paul reminds us that God has equipped us to stand in the face of adversity, knowing that He fights for us even when the night is at its darkest.

It doesn't matter how we celebrate Him. What matters is whether when the moment arises, will we be in the moment? Or will we allow ourselves to be distracted by whatever is more important to us than what the moment is calling for?

How often are we gathering together for the primary purpose of talking about Jesus? We are reminded that "I" may be a temple, but WE are the Church, for church is not something we do. It's who we are.

The Sabbath isn't a day. It's an action. A call to stop what we are doing and reflect on the One who is empowering us to do the work. A call to rest for a little while and remember who is carrying the load.

Fasting is not a dietary method. It is our way of drawing near to God. When we hunger for food, God promises to fill the hunger in our souls.

Prayer is simply a conversation with God. Jesus reminds us that the quality of our prayers is not in what we say, but WHY we say it.

The trials of Hagar remind us that God's promises to His people have been and will be fulfilled, even when it seems like it's impossible.

We must commit the Word of God to our memory and our hearts; otherwise, we're just reciting Scripture and not harnessing the power of the Bread of Life and Living Water within us.

Hearing the Gospel one time is not enough to SUSTAIN the believer. We must feed on the Bread of Life and Living Water again and again so that we never forget to be more like Jesus.

All of Scripture points to Jesus. So we read the Bible to know Him, be examined by Him, be transformed by Him, and walk like Him, empowered by Him.

The Spiritual Disciplines are meant to make us more like Jesus. Any other motive divorces the disciplines from the power they're meant to connect us to.

This entire series has been about love. While Jesus died out of obligation for the glory of God, He also did it out of LOVE, for God IS love.

We are all ministers of the Gospel because God has equipped us all to do the work of the Ministry. If God cares about all our gifts equally, why don't we?

The proverbial thorns in our sides are God's blessings in disguise that are meant to keep us humble and connected to the Source of our power. We are strong only when we can admit our weakness and tap into the strength of the Lord.

Being blessed is not just about possessing things. It's about being happy, joyful in the Lord. That despite our circumstances, good or bad, we are blessed because we have Jesus and every spiritual blessing He has secured for us.

Forgiveness and reconciliation are two totally different things. And forgiveness does not require reconciliation. We need the Holy Spirit to help us do our part to restore relationships with one another as Christ restored our relationship with Him.

Our sin debt can never be paid on our own. Thank God for Jesus who canceled out the debt for us so that we may be called His and be set free to live AND forgive others.

Being a friend of God makes us privy to the mind of God, so that not only fo we have access to what we're supposed to do, but also WHY, in the blessed hope of knowing that He died for us knowing we'd be His friends BEFORE we ever thought to submit to Him.

To reclaim our God-given identifier as a slave of righteousness, we must understand how God defined slave labor and held Israelites accountable to setting them free, just as Jesus has set us free from sin and death.

What does it mean to be saved? What am I saved from? What am I saved to? What am I saved FOR?

If God created us, why would we not consult Him to discover who we are and how we fit in His will? Our identity series begins with us learning what it means to be hidden in Christ.

If the chief end of man is to glorify God and delight in Him forever, and God's name is of first importance to Him, then one way or another, God WILL get glory out of us, His image-bearers.

As we celebrate Jesus's birth this season, Jesus reminds us that just as he was born, died, and rose again, so we must die in order to live again.
