Domestic abuse is defined as any pattern of behavior in a relationship used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner. Abuse is psychological, physical, sexual, and sometimes financial. Behaviors that frighten, intimidate, terrorize, manipulate, hurt, or wound are abusive.
