This Sunday we look at a passage that is often confusing and even controversial (in our culture), but it speaks of God's good design and how this plays out in our public gatherings (church services).

The Good News of the Gospel empowers us to not live for our own glory but instead to glorify God in all things. When this is our desire, we will love people and obey God as we should.

The example is the Israelites in the wilderness. God saved them from Egypt but because of their continuing sin, most of them didn't make it to the Promised Land. Christian beware, God will not treat you differently.

What kind of effect would it have if our faith was like Abraham's? How would your life be transformed if you held on to God's promises that tightly?

This Sunday, we will look at how it worked out in Abraham's life, particularly in regard to him receiving the sign of the covenant: circumcision.

So, what does it mean to be 'made righteous' by faith? And how should being made righteous impact the way we live our lives as believers?

As we read about Abram's response to hearing God speak it will challenge us to think about how we respond to God's Word, and if we believe it with the same kind of faith.

Jesus came to us. He humbled Himself, left the glory and comfort of Heaven to enter our world so that we might be redeemed. This is what the Apostle Paul did. No, he didn't come from Heaven, but he entered the world of the people he sought to bring the Gospel to. That's what he told the Corinthians to do. That's what he tells us to do.

Where may the Lord be calling you to lay down your rights for the benefit of others and the growth of God's Kingdom?

The passage we are looking at this week says the answer involves laying down some of the rights and freedoms we have in the Gospel so that we don't cause a new Christian to stumble in their faith. It's a very real test of maturity.

To answer the question about whether Christians should even bother to get married in the last days, the Apostle Paul encourages us to look at our priorities. No, it's not a sin to get married. But singleness is encouraged in a way that cuts across some of our cultural expectations.

In this week's passage, the Apostle Paul encourages us to embrace our station in life and serve God faithfully in the place He has put us.

This Sunday, we look at a topic that has much relevance to the day to day lives of every adult, and specifically every married couple.

Only in Him will we be truly happy.

If we are trusting in the person and work of Jesus for our salvation, the Holy Spirit is working in our hearts to change how we live. We no longer live in worldly ways, seeking our own pleasure, but we are transformed so that we live for God and His glory.

Should a Christian take another Christian to court to settle a dispute? The passage we are looking at this Sunday says a very definite "No". But what is the reason for this? And why not seek justice if you have been unfairly wronged?

How do we enjoy and honour God when good gifts are taken away from us? This is where the rubber meets the road when it comes to our hearts.

God knew that life would be like this; He designed it this way. So, how do we shake that mindset and worship God in the mundane parts of life? This Sunday's message will give some insights and tools to help you rejoice in the midst of normality.
