Disciples Church Springfield
Disciples Church Sermons
Disciples Church Springfield is an independent, evangelical church, keen to impact the greater Springfield area with the grace of the Gospel. Our Lead Pastor is Callum Mansfield. Our vision is that every member of the Church will know Jesus enough to follow Him, love God enough to obey Him, love people enough to serve them, trust the Father enough to risk everything to advance His kingdom, and trust the Holy Spirit enough to let Him change them and use them for His glory. Psalm 32 26.09.2021 34:51
We continue to add to our series from the Book of Psalms this week with a special one-off sermon on Psalm 32 by Callum Trevorrow. How encouraging this Psalm is for the person who humbles themselves, confesses their sin, and receives the Lord's forgiveness! How amazing is it, for the person whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt. This is the opportunity for all who put their faith and trust in...
Partners in prayer & mission 19.09.2021 44:42
As we finish off the letter to the Colossians, we see Paul and Timothy encourage the church to be a praying church. And for that to happen it needs to be filled with praying people. In the greetings that are given we see the Gospel at work in and through Gospel partnerships. Even though they are brief, they give us insight into what it looks like to live out of our Gospel identity.
Relational advice 12.09.2021 43:08
The Apostle Paul continues to press in to the applications of living out the Gospel by focussing on the relational dynamics within the household (which in the first century often looked distinctly different from our modern households). The Gospel should impact how we relate to those around us, especially those we engage with the most. How are we to live out this calling in our lives?

Psalm 24 22.08.2021 35:20
In a busy world, with lives full of responsibility, it can be really easy to have a distracted faith - one that misses just how great and grand the Lord is. Psalm 24 helps to reorient our hearts and minds, to recapture our attention, and focus on the greatness of the Lord as we are exposed to His sovereignty, His holiness, and His majesty.
It's not about rules 15.08.2021 39:12
Jesus saves us by grace alone, through faith alone. The Colossian church knew this truth but were then faced with competing voices. The false teachers were trying to get them to follow a bunch of rules to maintain and grow their relationship with Jesus; rather than just depending on Him. Paul points out how pointless and distracting those attempts are, and that religious ceremonies lack any real p...
Rooted in Truth 08.08.2021 26:43
After laying a solid gospel foundation, emphasising Jesus’ supremacy and sufficiency in all things, Paul moves on to begin addressing the false teaching that has crept into the church in Colossae. These believers need to hold on to what they’ve just been reminded of so that they aren’t lead astray by clever arguments for adding extras to the work of Christ. The source of these lies against the gos...
The Secret Revealed 01.08.2021 39:28
There were many voices around the Colossians trying to lead them astray from the foundational truths of the Gospel. Paul wanted them to know and be confident in the truth so that they could stand firm against those falsehoods. He lets them know that he is suffering, serving and struggling so that they can mature in the Gospel; and that he does that in Christ’s strength.
Jesus is Preeminent! 25.07.2021 41:43

There's a warning about people who cause divisions, and a d...
Gospel generosity 04.07.2021 46:40
The Apostle Paul was laser-focused on making faithful disciples of Jesus. He didn't care much about worldly things at all. But there was one issue which seems common in every generation that Paul took particular interest in - caring for the poor, particularly poor Christians. His philosophy was, if you have a brother or sister in Christ who is in need, then you should do something to help them. Th...
Faithful Disciples 27.06.2021 40:02
The Apostle Paul didn't plant the church in Rome, so why was he so keen to visit, and why did he choose to write them such a detailed letter when his visit was delayed? Paul answers that question in this passage. God gave Paul a special mission to the Gentiles, and he was keen to ensure that wherever a church was planted, the result would be faithful followers of Jesus.
