When you think about the task that we, as citizens of Heaven, have, it can feel like an impossible one. And it is. But thankfully, we aren't alone. God sent us a helper—someone who makes the impossible possible.

We’ve been exploring what it means to be citizens of Heaven first. On Sunday, we talked about the tension of being citizens of Heaven while still living here on Earth. A tension the biblical authors called exile. As citizens of God's Kingdom, we are called to walk the way of the exile.

This week, we explored the radical and surprising nature of God’s Kingdom. A Kingdom where the poor are blessed, enemies are loved, and power is displayed through humility and sacrifice. As citizens of this Kingdom, that requires us to live in an upside-down way.

What does it mean to follow Jesus in an age of political division? This week, we explore how being citizens of heaven shapes our engagement with the world, not as partisans, but as ambassadors of Christ. It’s not about choosing a side, but choosing the way of the cross.

This Sunday, we paused for our AGM Sunday. This is an important marker in the life of our church because it signifies a new ministry year. So we leaned into that by refocusing on our mission to Love God, Love People and Make Disciples.
