Dave and Gwen's Baby Boomer Show

We spent the day on our boat in Santa Barbara and listened to the rain. We talk about a myriad of issues including the fact that Dave's folks would have been 100 this week if they were still alive. We also talk about holidays as they are always fun to talk about!

We talk about our recent trip to London and Africa (safari).

We were able to sit outside on the balcony of our hotel room that overlooked a natural watering hole. Earlier in the day there were water buffalo, gazelles, warthogs and many birds. The night sounds were incredible. Be sure to listen toward the end of the clip as it has some very interesting sounds. Makes you wonder what was outside!

We traveled to London for a few days and then onto Kenya for a week-long safari. When we were at Lake Nakuru we saw a white rhinoceros charge toward a small white car that approached the vans. I was delighted I got this on tape and we deducted that the rhino did not like small cars!

We purchased a Cataline 270 Sailboat (1995). She is 27 feet long and beautiful! We share our experience witih bringing her up from the Channel Islands Harbor to her new home in Santa Barbara's Harbor. We also talk about "Old Spanish Days" (Fiesta) currently in progress in Santa Barbara.

Our oldest son finished his BA and now both boys have their college degrees. As parents, we feel we have one major job done! We also bought a slip in Santa Barbara and talk about our sailboat plans.

We share our recent adventure to China. We visited Beijing, Xian, Shanghai, and Hong Kong. An incredible trip!

Gwen's Dad is ill and we talk about the caregiving experience of a sick parent. We also discuss our community service with the Medical Reserve Corps at a H1N1 Vaccination Clinic.

Update on our son's burn injury and our prophecies for 2008.

Our oldest son is burned over 30% of his body following a spill at work and a pot of boiling water splashed over his chest, neck, shoulder and thigh. We talk about our fears. We also recently returned from a Panama Canal cruise and discuss briefly.

Married 29 years and still in love....pretty cool!
