I created the bulk of this track back in August 2016, for a collaboration which fell through. So tonight I dusted it off and added a bass line using loops. The lead guitar is played manually in Logic Pro X, as are the backwards metal and various other "voice" tracks. The drums are an Apple drummer track, customised by me.

I was thinking about Syria...all the suffering. I couldn't think of anything useful to say in the face of such industrial scale devastation, so I'll leave that there. And to be honest, I like heavy music, and dark music...and this is both. I added the Middle Eastern sounds to reflect the darkness of my thoughts there. Maybe I'm just drawn to it...dunno.
