Lost In Thought 31.03.2017 2:58
Piano and rock guitars and bass. One of my Apple Loop compositions. ------------- Photograph: Wistful | by david.torcivia, Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/viatorci/3019818017
Killerbot 28.03.2017 4:11
Backing track created by me in Blocs Wave, with GarageBand hard rock guitar (dacca style) and ThumbJam metal meltdown played through amped phaser. Art: Celia-killer-bots-attacking-thom mango concept-art 02.png - Deevad (David Revoy). http://www.davidrevoy.com
Borg 26.03.2017 5:16
My gift to any fellow Star Trek fans out there. The main synthesiser is Stargazer from Arturia's iProphet. Lot's of beats and subtle repetitious bass synths, with plenty of reverb and echo, to create the Borg sound. Enjoy! ---------------- Original image can be found here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Jean-Luc_Picard_as_Borg.jpg
Zigg-E & The Gigapop IV 25.03.2017 4:54
I love industrial EDM sounds, and glitch in particular, so I combined them here using Novation Launchpad with some 'out there' ThumbJam guitar and a little manual drum kit drumming. I was imagining a steampunk lead guitarist with his backing crew, The Gigapop IV. The image original can be found here: http://maxpixel.freegreatpicture.com/Fantasy-Steampunk-Futuristic-Man-Male-Person-1809590
Friday Night, Winding Down 24.03.2017 2:51
This is one of my Apple Loop compositions. I was thinking of Friday nights, and Melbourne laneways. It could be any city that embraces freedom and liberty, not just Melbourne.
Lazy Afternoon Sax 19.03.2017 4:45
I created the backing track in Novation Launchpad, added GarageBand roots guitar on high reverb and a little echo, and some slow deep P-Bass, then played saxophone via iFretless Sax with a lazy freestyle feel. I hope you enjoy it.
Just Me And The Universe 18.03.2017 9:28
This came together very quickly, only an hour or so. I found this deep rich synth arp and just played around for a few minutes, then created the first track in one take. The other synth (sounds like humming), track pan off centre, I also played in one take to compliment the first track. It felt complete, so I stopped there. It felt very emotional and personal, and all I could think about when I cr...
A Trilobite Dreams 15.03.2017 4:19
A highly successful species (oh, they existed for around 290 million years) in their day (they went extinct around 250 million years ago). But the crucial scientific question is...what did they dream? Just kidding, except I really was thinking about trilobites and what they might have dreamt... I used a mix of loops and manually played synths and GB upright bass on this one.
Table For Two 12.03.2017 2:08
Loved Fiji when we went years ago. The photograph is not mine, but does remind me what a great relaxing holiday that was. This is one of my Apple Loop compositions. ---------- Romantic Dinner At Turtle Island, Fiji. uriouskaa5786, Flickr.
The Colour Out Of Space 10.03.2017 6:41
Any Lovecraft fans out there? What do you think? Is this dark ambient piece a good match for "The Colour Out Of Space"? Created in Logic Pro X. ------------------------------- For some cool art: "The Colour Out Of Space" LudvikSKP, DeviantArt http://ludvikskp.deviantart.com/art/the-colour-out-of-space-340467711
When The Dam Bursts 10.03.2017 4:39
The dam bursts and the tears flow. For this track I use a mix of GB smart instruments and manually played GB instruments and one loop (crunchy bass, towards the end). ---------------- Image (slightly resized): Tears | by Megyarsh Tears | by Megyarsh, Flickr
Metal Is My Tribe 06.03.2017 3:13
After 'Not My Best Idea' https://soundcloud.com/dacca/not-my-best-idea I thought I'd follow up by exploring the idea of full metal guitars but with intense African drumming. See what you think, and let me know! It felt truly tribal to me, and I enjoyed the metal sound I was creating! I must confess, I've always had short hair. But I love metal, and used to enjoy the mosh pit in my younger days! --...
Dystopia 05.03.2017 7:11
I haven't done a "soundscape" style track for a little while, and was drawn to these dark ambient sounds. I imagined a bleak and desperate dystopia. Here's an earlier Dystopian track of mine: https://soundcloud.com/dacca/a-dose-of-dystopia ---------------- Art: https://www.flickr.com/photos/94725359@N06/13799295904/ "escaping the dome" - yumikrum, Flickr
Bug Out Bag - dacca and the doomsday preppers 04.03.2017 4:40
I wanted to create a a doom prepper track that wasn't heavy in mood or musical style. Hence, I've deliberately used warm guitar tones and vocals to contrast with the dark message. I hope somebody enjoys it! "Bye bye, bye bye!" ------------------------- Image modified from the following show available on vimeo: https://vimeo.com/145059958
Elon 03.03.2017 4:35
I've created this track as a tribute to the pioneering vision, compassion, and genius of one of the true leaders in today's world - Elon Musk. The style is very much influenced by electronic music pioneers Tangerine Dream https://soundcloud.com/tangerinedreamofficial. ---------- Inspired by Space X's Iridium-1 Landing by Official SpaceX Photos, Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/spacex/315797844...
Akrotiri 03.03.2017 2:37
I was born in Akrotiri, Cyprus, and decided to create this short piece dedicated to the place of my birth. The Western style drums probably add an element of fusion to otherwise traditional Greek and Turkish instruments. I hope you like it.
Not My Best Idea 27.02.2017 3:19
I was in the mood to satisfy my metal urges, and so I created this. The theme running through my head was upping the ante / raising the stakes. I used to feature an image of a man on a car roof driving through flames in some daredevil stunt. I hope it satisfies one or two metal heads out there! \m/ ---------------- For my follow-up track, try: https://soundcloud.com/dacca/metal-is-my-tribe
Kugelblitz (Black Hole Made From Light) - with Paploviante 25.02.2017 9:46
"Kugelblitz" normally refers to "ball lightning", but what I only recently discovered is that astronomers also use the term for a special (and so far theoretical) kind of black hole - a black hole made of light! Einstein's famous formula for mass and energy tells us the precise relationship between mass and energy, and so what can be calculated using mass can also be calculated using light. If a b...
Kathmandu Chime Krusher #8 24.02.2017 8:41
Chimes and bit crushers - what could be more natural? --------------------- For Matt.
I'm Not Here (Open Collaboration version) 19.02.2017 5:49
Dream little one, dream. I removed the glockenspiel in this version (in the end I found it distracting)...and then I decided to share as an open collaboration. Have fun! --------- Here's a collaboration version with my friend Smitty "Just Some Things Amelia Pond Saw": https://soundcloud.com/user-smitjam/daccacollab-just-some-things-amelia-pond-saw
Love Your Life 19.02.2017 6:48
I know I sometimes create dark music, or intense rock and metal. But I do have a lighter side, and this track captures that sense of optimism and hope that exists within me even when the world appears to be going insane. We only have one life, so it's worth focusing on living a good life and enjoying it.
Compulsion (Synth, clarinet and flute) 15.02.2017 4:19
I discovered quite a compulsive synth sound on Novation Launchkey, and softened it with clarinet and flute instruments from GB. I hope you like it.
Bride Of Death 10.02.2017 5:00
I was in the mood to create something dark, yet beautiful. I hope you enjoy it. I think it has a certain dark majesty. ----------- Partly inspired by this Art: Angel of Darkness by 666BloodWolf666 ...DeviantArt https://www.deviantart.com/666bloodwolf666/art/Angel-of-Darkness-278754255
I'm Not Here 10.02.2017 5:49
Dim the lights, close your eyes, and drift away. --------- If you'd like to play along, try this Open Collaboration version: https://soundcloud.com/dacca/im-not-here-open-collaboration
