I set out to create a club anthem style track...let me know if I succeeded! ---------- Image taken from: Euphoria!_by_tomasino.cz, Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/115244022@N02/16475819738
Time Alone 16.07.2017 2:50
In this track I was trying to capture that moment of inner peace we sometimes feel, especially in moments of solitude. This is one of my Apple loop compositions.

Metal guitars and Middle Eastern instruments are Apple loops. The synth leads are played manually in Logic Pro X.

From Beyond 10.07.2017 4:11
I had a lot fun making a lot of noise, and switching pan and double-tracking to keep the listener off balance. The two main guitar tracks were done via ThumbJam with a couple of metal amps from Ampkit. Love that app combo. The backing track was created using Blocs Wave. Icarus 09.07.2017 5:20
As I created this track, with it's muted bass and double bass basslines, I added the dark rhythm guitar and guitar solo and it just become epic. It felt like flying too close to the Sun... There are layers of complexity on this track, but I'm happy with it. I think it works, do you? -------------- Image: 'Coronal Rain, Solar Storm' by NASA Goddard Photo and Video, Flickr https://www.flickr.com/pho...

Dark Soul Granite 06.07.2017 4:45
A small dedication to the city that gave me my surname. Coutts is derived from Cults, a suburb of Aberdeen, Scotland. It also gave name to Colt, as in Colt '45. https://books.google.com.au/books/about/Genealogical_Memoirs_of_the_Families_of.html?id=JiYAAAAAQAAJ&redir_esc=y Such are names. In this track I return, after a long absence, to glitch...one of my favourite musical discoveries since I've b...
My Sweet Poison 04.07.2017 4:04
I was discussing the nature of sugar earlier today ( I suffer from fructose malabsorption), and felt in the mood for some funk, so I ended up creating 'My Sweet Poison' which I dedicate to the monosaccharide fructose. Music doesn't have to make sense. The title is copied from a book of the same name by David Gillespie Not many people can say they've dedicated a track to a type of simple sugar... I...

Space Is Where We Belong 28.06.2017 9:29
I often think about the future of our species, and about space, and here again I combine those two streams of thought. I feel that it's like an ambient heartbeat.....very faint, but still there. Hopefully my music helps you think about such things too. Enjoy...it's free to download! -------------- Check out Image: Cosmic Epic Unfolds in Infrared - JPL, NASA. 2007 https://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/im...
Light Me Up 25.06.2017 4:28
With Daft Punk holding the reins on my brain, I thought I'd try an electronic dance club track. Let me know what you think!
We Got Synths! - Paploviante and Friends...and dacca! 24.06.2017 6:51
Paploviante and Friends recently released a fabulous electronic open collaboration piece entitled CINEMATIC - thanks guys! https://soundcloud.com/paploviante-and-friends/cinematic-open-collab This is my collaboration attempt for that piece. I've added a phasing sweeper synth and a synth string, as well as some acoustic guitar noodling and a touch of background choir towards the end.
Air Spirits 23.06.2017 7:03
This track uses a mix of ambient Novation Launchpad pads, and GarageBand Chinese instruments (Pipa, Erhu, and Chinese Drum Kit - all played manually). To me it felt mysterious, almost mythical, with a sense of floating. --------------------- Image taken from: Contrails over Lisbon, JPL, NASA. https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/spaceimages/details.php?id=PIA11062
The Atrocity Archives 18.06.2017 5:38
Only the mind of British science-fiction author Charles Stross could mix Lovercraftian horror with a top secret organisation called The Laundry that prevents demons and otherworldly monstrosities from invading and destroying our world...and yet make it darkly funny. If that appeals to you then I highly recommend The Laundry Files series, which kicks off with The Atrocity Archives. ------------ In...
Get To The Heart Of It 16.06.2017 5:53
I am sick and tired of politics and religion these days. Leaders on the left and right do not lead, religious leaders offer nothing new...nothing of value...their morality is an empty bucket. It's time for a revolution.
How Long Do We Have? - dacca and Spade 13.06.2017 11:19
I was delighted to have my friend Nick R Davies aka Spade https://soundcloud.com/nickrdavies add a vocal, drums and guitars to my electronic original: https://soundcloud.com/dacca/how-long-do-we-have
Air Of Decay 12.06.2017 7:18
I was playing around with some very "breathy" synths in Logic Pro X, which lent themselves to a very dark ambient piece. I added some mournful strings, adjusted the mix and that was it. I imagine it would make useful background music for a roleplaying game, if it fits the scene and mood of the game. ----------------- Partly inspired by - Art: Green MistPremadeBackground by AngelaHolmesStock, Devia...
Moog The Merciless 11.06.2017 4:21
Playing around with the iMini Moog, I created a very dark and retro sound. So I added some edgy bass, a drum kit track that builds in speed and volume, and a floating echoey guitar, and some FX. It made me think of Flash Gordon's famous villain Ming The Merciless, but felt that the Moog itself deserved to be in the title. So, there you have it. All bow before Moog The Merciless!!!!!
Folding Spacetime 10.06.2017 5:47
I am a huge fan of Frank Herbert's Dune novel, and enjoyed the movie too. This is my tribute to both, focussing on the folding of time and space (or, more correctly, spacetime) by a Guild navigator.

Ghost In The Shell 04.06.2017 12:44
Inspired by the 2017 movie of the same name, starring Scarlett Johansson. Created using Novation Launchpad, and GarageBand guitar played on Japanese scale.
