We are built by God into a spiritual house where He dwells so that we would demonstrate and declare Him to the world as we come to Jesus for life and power.

God’s calling to his exiled people is to be holy because He is holy. To be holy is to be fully set apart for Him and set apart with His people.

Everyone who follows Jesus will experience trials. Those trials are used by God so that we would put our faith in the right place.

Our God is beyond what we can imagine - our identity in Christ is equally awesome! We are sent people, strangers in a foreign land by God for God, chosen and equipped for God's purpose.

God gives us His Holy Spirit to send us on Jesus' mission. We are His missionaries. Our missionary identity leads us to trust God and to make disciples who make disciples.

God brought us into the kingdom through Jesus. He is our King. We are His servants. Our servant identity leads us to serve God as worship and to serve people as though they are Jesus.

God made us a family through Jesus. We are His children. He is our Father. When we realize our family identity, we respond to God in love and treat others like brothers and sisters.

God has saved us not just for ourselves but for His purpose in the world. We have been saved to worship Him, to show Him to the world, and to share Him with all people.

God is the power to save. He has saved us from the penalty of sin, is saving us from the power of sin, and will save us from the presence of sin. We are free in Him, and this has implications on who we are (our identity) and how we live (our rhythm).

Our prayer is that we would be a people who treasure God above all things, who are united with Him and who boldly call those who don't yet believe to be united to Him also, and who experience the real presence of God in our midst as we submit our lives to Him.

Your acceptance before the Father is not in your doing, it’s in your being.

When we rely on the methods of God rather than the presence of God, we give greater honor to our leadership and influence than to God when things go right.

The search to live life according to a set of laws and principles instituted by God in order to gain more control over our own lives, will always leave us unsatisfied because it requires us to bear the weight of our own decisions rather than trusting in and living for God.

Study of Jonah: Another prophet named Jesus picks up on the story of Jonah and in a stunning way demonstrates its fulfillment. The resolution to Jonah’s story can actually bring about great resolution to ours too.

Study of Jonah: Apart from the gospel, our inclination is always towards self-centered comfort. But when Jesus become our comfort, God can begin to free us for other-centered compassion.

Study of Jonah: Self-righteousness will always distance us from both God and the other undeserving people whom God loves so dearly. The way to defeat self-righteousness is by exchanging the need to justify ourselves by our goodness with the good news that Jesus is our justification.

Study of Jonah: Repentance is an urgent acknowledgement of an offense towards God that is confessed to God & others and results in a change of heart and action. Even though God is not obligated to respond to our repentance, He chooses to do so with incredible mercy.

Study of Jonah: God gives second chances not based on who we are but who He is. He gives second chances not because we measure up in some way but because He is gracious.

Study of Jonah: When we become aware of the idols we have set up in our lives and make a commitment to trust God alone for our strength and deliverance, we can be used by God for the mission He has for us.

Study of Jonah: God is committed to save us, like Jonah, in such a way as to require we put our full faith in Him alone.

Study of Jonah: Many of the difficult seasons that you face in life are not God’s attempt to punish you for bad behavior, nor are they times when He’s abandoned you. They are His merciful attempts to draw you back into His love, so you can complete your life’s purpose for His glory.

Study of Jonah: God has a mission for your life, but God must do something great in you before He’ll ever do something great through you. Your rebelliousness must be revealed to you, and God’s grace must overwhelm you.
