Is there any way the seemingly unstoppable force of death can be stopped? In John 11, the Apostle John tells the story of Lazarus and shows us that Jesus is the Resurrection and the Life, encouraging us to trust in the One who came to undo everything that sin has done.

Have you ever doubted God? You are not alone. Even one of Jesus’ disciples, Thomas, wrestled with his own doubts. Pastor Jace Hudson of Covenant of Grace Church in Copley, OH shows us in this sermon from John 20:24-31 that when we doubt, Jesus comes to us in our doubts with his wounds.

Is there anything certain in life? In John 10:22-42, Jesus presents us with three glorious inevitabilities of the Christian life, leading us to take confidence in the Good Shepherd, who will accomplish everything he set out to do.

Jesus is the Good Shepherd. But what does that mean? In John 10:1-21, Jesus teaches us about what makes him the Good Shepherd. And in doing so, we see that because Jesus is the Good Shepherd, we must enter into his flock and follow him into life.

How can the blind gain sight? How can the spiritually blind come to see? In this story of the healing of a blind man in John 9, we see that the Light of the World brings salvific sight to those who confess they are spiritually blind, and judgment to those who claim they are not.

What does the nature of the human will look like before Jesus steps in? In John 8:31-59, Jesus shows us that the unbeliever is a helpless slave to sin, and instructs us to abide in the eternal Christ, who alone can free the slave and help the helpless.

Why should we seek the lost with the good news of Jesus Christ? Guest preacher Jim Donohue gives us five reasons from Luke 14:12-24, showing us that God has a great desire to fill his house. And because of this, we should compel people to come in.

When light shines, it always either attracts or repels. In John 8:12-30, we see the Light of the World shining, and people being repelled by it. In this conversation, Jesus shows us that the Light of the World gives life to those who follow him, and judges those who do not.

Who is Jesus? And what does he have to say about his own identity? In John 7:25-52 we learn that Jesus, as the promised Christ sent from heaven and now returned to heaven, pours out the promised Holy Spirit on all who come to him.

How should we respond to the authority Jesus seems to have? In John 7:1-24, Jesus is rejected by two groups of people for two different reasons. But in their rejection, we learn that Jesus’ authority comes from God the Father, and therefore his teaching must be received.

Is there any type of satisfaction we can find that actually lasts? In a tense conversation with an unbelieving crowd in John 6:22-71, Jesus teaches us that God has graciously provided the eternally satisfying bread of Jesus Christ for us to eat by faith.

What are you afraid of? Is there anything that you should be afraid of? In John 6:16-21, the disciples see Jesus walking on the water and are frightened. But Jesus shows them and us that the One we should be afraid of stills our fears with Himself.

Jesus’ feeding of the 5,000 is a miracle that is included in all four gospels. So what does the Apostle John want us to learn from it? Listen to Mike Nixon preach on this miraculous event, helping us to worship the right Jesus for the right reason.

What does the resurrection of Jesus Christ prove? In this Easter sermon on Romans 4:25 from Pastor Adam, we see that the resurrection is the proof of Christ’s finished work of redemption.

What type of authority does Jesus have? Is he a rival to God the Father? In John 5:19-47, Jesus shows those questioning him that he has the authority to give life to those who believe in him, and to judge those who do not.

What is the right response to Jesus’ power on display? In John 5:1-18, Jesus shows his power by healing a man who had been unable to walk for 38 years, showing us that the revelation of Jesus’ authority demands a response of faith and devotion to him. Jesus is our only hope.

What is your faith like? Is it a false faith? In John 4:43-54, the Apostle John writes about one of Jesus’ signs, showing Christians that false faith seeks personal benefit, but true faith rests upon God’s faithfulness.

Where do you go for satisfaction? Does it last? In John 4:1-42, Jesus shows a Samaritan woman that Jesus offers endless satisfaction in Him to all people.

What does the successful Christian life look like? The Apostle John gives us a powerful example in John the Baptist. As we see the testimony of John the Baptist and the testimony of Jesus Christ, we find that the Christian’s highest joy is to make known the One who has made God known.

What do you need? What comes to mind when you are asked this question? In John 3:1-21, we see Jesus’ interaction with the Pharisee, Nicodemus. Through this conversation, Jesus introduces the idea of eternal life, and reveals the deep need within each of us in order to have this type of life. Have you ever lost the focus of your worship? Who (or what) are you worshiping? In John 2:12-25, the Apostle John explains that as the true temple, the crucified and risen Christ must be the exclusive focus of our worship.

How are you chasing blessing and fulfillment in your life? In John 2:1-11, Jesus saves a wedding by turning water into wine. This miracle serves as a sign, pointing forward to the reality that Jesus provides the better wine of God’s blessing.

How did you find Jesus? In John 1:35-51, the Apostle John writes about Jesus’ first disciples, and how they found, or were found by, him. In this passage, we learn that a disciple of Jesus is a found finder.

Who are you? How would you share your testimony? John the Apostle in John 1: 19-34 shares the testimony of John the Baptist who starts sharing who he is not in order to profess who Christ is, showing us that the Christian’s testimony begins in the negative and ends in the positive.

What tools has God given us in order to live faithfully? Luke in Acts 2:42 shows us that, as believers, we are given the Holy Spirit who creates communities of Christians, a means of grace to help us live faithfully.
