Why do you pray? Out of obedience? Duty? Routine? James 5:13-18 shows us that we should pray because God hears us, God answers us, and God uses us.

How do we as Christians find rest? As the author of Hebrews describes God’s Word, we see that we must strive to enter God's rest by believing in His Word.

What’s most exciting about Christmas? That God became man to give us grace.

Does the light of Christ attract or repel you? The Apostle John in John 1:6-13 writes about how the light was rejected, describing the rights for those who receive the light, showing us that the light of Christ shines and divides.

How would you describe Jesus’ life? Where would you even start? In John 1:1-5, we get an introduction to the life of Jesus, the eternal, creative, and life-giving Word. Showing us that into the darkness of the world, God’s light shines.

Do you desire peace? Paul in his letter to the Philippians lays out four streams of peace that we as Christians are invited to drink from, showing us that a life governed by the gospel is characterized by peace.

How are you running your race? The Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:12-21 urges Christians to run the race in which Christ has set before us, showing us that until you hold the prize, run the race.

What would you put on your résumé to qualify for Heaven? Paul gives us two examples of righteousness in Philippians 3:1-11, showing us that true righteousness comes not from your own qualifications, but from Christ’s.

Who is your hero? Who is it that you look up to? The Apostle Paul in Philippians 2:19-30 gives us two examples of the type of people we should look up to as we grow in Christ, showing us that Christians in process need in-process examples.

We are called to live in obedience to God, but how do we do that? Paul shows us in Philippians 2:12-18 that the same God who worked salvation in us is the One who empowers us to work it out in our daily lives. Those saved by God are to live in obedience to God.

Paul calls the church to walk in humility. But how do we live this out in a culture that prizes pride and self-promotion? In Philippians 2:1–11, the Apostle Paul answers this question by showing us that just as Christ humbled Himself, so too should the Christian.

Why are you still here on this earth? The Apostle Paul helps us answer this question in Philippians 1:19-30 showing us that as long as you’re still alive, there’s still work to be done.

What does it look like to have a worldview with Christ at the center? Paul models for us in Philippians 1:12-18 how such a mindset frees you up to look beyond yourself and shows us that when the gospel advances, we rejoice—regardless of our circumstances.

How should the Christian pray for himself and for his church? The apostle Paul models this for us in Philippians 1:9-11 in his prayer for his brothers and sisters in Christ at Philippi. In this prayer, Paul shows us that as we wait for Christ, we are to grow in Christ.

Paul writes to his fellow Christians in Philippi with joy-filled thankfulness, even from prison. How is he able to do that? Because he has his mind fixed on the truth that God begins, sustains, and completes salvation for his people.
