In his death and resurrection, Jesus reveals the power of God to save his people and bring them from death to life with him forever in his new creation. This is our great and only hope.

Our faith and hope are in God and have been purchased with the precious blood of Jesus, planned from before the foundation of the world. All of this should draw our hearts to live in fear because we are exiles on the earth.

The believer’s call too obedience is motivated by the revelation of Jesus, the believer’s adoption, and the holiness the God who has adopted us.

The Holy Spirit worked through inquiring prophets to give us a message of hope and grace, though they realized that they were serving us, despite “not receiving what was promised.”

As exiles we can rejoice in trials because at the return of Jesus, they will reveal in us something that is more precious than gold. Trials will reveal the truth of our secure salvation in Jesus that will be obtained completely in the end!

Our precious and living hope is found in the resurrection of Jesus and securely kept/guarded by our Great High Priest in heaven NOT in anything found in us!

From before the foundations of the earth, God has chosen to some to receive the good news that Jesus. The elect, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will believe the gospel, endure suffering, share the good news freely with others, and find hope in the object of their faith.

Christians who face trials and persecution in this life have hope because of the salvation that they have received as well as the future hope of our glorification that will come when Jesus returns. Our hope in these things draws us by God’s grace to life holy lives, because we have been ransomed by God the Father, through Jesus, in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Kingdom is established by the Son of Man who hung on a cross and rose from the dead for his people to heal them and lead them in a life of humble service.

Those who rest in Christ alone will be first and enter eternal life, but those who trust in the works of the law will be last.

The gospel does what the law can’t. It saves covenant breakers, dignifies the lowly, and makes orphans children.

Christ's Kingdom is displayed in the church's loving discipline and pursuit of holiness, and it's defined by forgiveness.

The kingdom of heaven is so unlike the kingdoms of earth that the small, weak, and lost find refuge in the one while they are despised, rejected, and abused by the other.

Our great need is to know and worship God forever. So Jesus, God himself, took on flesh to bring us back to God.

Jesus is the eternally begotten son of God who was born of the flesh for us in order that we who are of the flesh might be adopted as sons and daughters of God.

Jesus came to establish a new kingdom and covenant through his death and resurrection on our behalf. And only by faith in him alone can we enter.

The revelation of the glory of the Son is the comfort of his people and the hope of the Christian life.

Theme: The revelation of the Christ leads to the revelation of the cross, and disciples of Christ must follow him in his suffering and will be received into glory.

Praise to the LORD is fitting for His people because of His perfections. The LORD is Creator, Sovereign, Sustainer, and King and because of this His people's hearts will sing loudly and skillfully to the LORD with thanksgiving!

There is no God like YHWH, the shepherd of his people who will take vengeance on the enemies of his people and return his people to a place of bounty and blessing.

God will rescue His weak and afflicted people because of His faithfulness to His own covenant promises.

As the Spirit warns Christians of the destructiveness of sin as well as its consequences, we are reminded of the salvation that the LORD has given to His people as an act of His free grace! Sermon by Pastor Ben Hyink.

God’s people are tempted to give to God in order to regain or earn favor with God, but God is wants us, by faith, to give to Him what He produces in us through salvation, Justice, Long Suffering, and a Humble Walk with God.

This Psalm speaks in two directions. First it lays out the worth of forgiveness and the blessing that is had for those who seek it. Secondly, we see the weight of forgiveness and the call to pursue it rather than stubbornly refuse. Sermon by guest speaker Luke Bylsma.
