We are told in this chapter that no matter what we do we will be unprofitable servants. Why? Join me today as we discover why there is no such thing as evening the score with Heavenly Father.

Right off the bat King Benjamin asks his people to trifle not with his words. Meaning, he asks them to treat sacred things sacred. You and I are blessed with protection and we trifle not with the sacred things in our lives. Also, King Benjamin's example of service!!! Today we will talk about how we show God our love as we love His kids!

We talk about King Benjamin being an amazing king, but one thing that I have always missed was that King Benjamin helped his people make higher covenants with Heavenly Father by giving them a new name! Today we look at the biblical significance of being given a new name, and what that means for us!

Have you ever noticed the theme in the scriptures of parents teaching there children the language of their fathers? The language that the scriptures are written in? The parents of the Book of Mormon teach us how VITAL it is that we teach our children to read and understand the scriptures!

When Peter understood the news that Christ had risen, he RAN to the sepulcher. He was so anxious to gain that testimony of the risen Lord that he ran. How do we approach our opportunities to know Him better? Do we run? Also,  because Christ rose from the dead, you and I can take great comfort in our times of dificulty.

Joseph Smith once declared that ALL of our beliefs are appendages to our belief that Jesus Christ died and was resurrected. We believe in a universal resurrection. But why is it so important? 

Today I want to take just a minute and talk about the invitation to fast from President Nelson and what we can learn about fasting from Isaiah 58. Also, the lesson we learn about the Savior and his submission in Moses 4:2.

Christ told his disciples to "Be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world." This chapter helps us understand HOW we can be of good cheer.

What would your life look like and feel like if the Atonement of Jesus Christ suddenly disappeared? Where would you turn for peace? Where could you possibly find hope? The Atonement is real and because of it, we have hope and assurance of a glorious eternity. 

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is not an auto body shop, but so often we treat it that way and live well below our privileges! Grace is sufficient, not just to forgive you of sins, but to perfect you and to strengthen you to be better!

Christ chose to take upon himself everything that we would feel and experience so that he could run to us and lift and strengthen us. He did all of that so that we would never have to be alone in our suffering. 

"We either have a prophet or we have nothing; and having a prophet, we have everything!" We are not left alone to try to figure out our modern times alone. We are given modern prophets for our modern world!

Without the priesthood and the ordinances of the temple what would have been the point of the Restoration? Heavenly Father said their would be a restoration of ALL things. That included a restoration of His power on the Earth and the ordinances that make exaltation possible. 

If we are pondering the blessings of the restoration then we HAVE to talk about the Book of Mormon. Modern day prophets and apostles have promised us that as we study the Book of Mormon we will be blessed and strengthened against the evils of the day! 

Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ. So what does that mean for you and I? Today we are going to talk about some of the things that the fist vision can teach us about our relationship with God. 

There are 4 different firsthand versions of the 1st vision. Some people struggle with why these versions are a little different from one another. Today we are going to talk about why the different accounts don't discredit the vision at all. Also, what we can learn about what Joseph really wanted to know when we combine the different versions.

You guys, we are making a pretty big pivot today! I didn't realize (although I should have) That the Easter block is meant to last for 2 weeks because of Conference. So rather than cover it for 2 weeks, I thought we would dive into President Nelson's challenge to study the restoration before conference. I apologize, because today we are talking history and all the things that had to happen to prep...

Easter week! Which means its a week full of MY favorite scriptures on the atonement of Jesus Christ. Today is 2nd Nephi 2:6. I often talk about how to redeem means to buy back, but what does that actually mean??? Today we will dive in and look at what it means to be a "purchased people."

Why do we have a random chapter by a prophet who lived 385 years after Christ inserted here in the Book of Mormon??? The short answer is inspiration. Today, we will talk about the longer answer! 

The book of Omni is different than any other book in the Book of Mormon, 5 different authors and it spans around 230 years! In Omni we learn about the people of Zarahemla and we hear the final admonition of Amaleki to offer our whole souls as an offering to Him. 

Have you ever considered that the way we treat the Sabbath day is a sign to Heavenly Father how much we value our covenants with Him? Jarom explains that the Nephite's treatment of the Sabbath day was something that made them distinct. 

"A man filled with the love of God is not content with blessing his family alone, but is anxious to bless the whole human race." Today, as we study the conversion of Enos, we will look at how that conversion filled him with a desire to bless not just his family, but also his enemies! 

Today we are going to look at the aspect of Enos' conversion where he learns to receive and perceive revelation. Each of us have to learn how to receive instructions from the Lord on our paths to becoming more like Him. 

Have you ever been super hungry? Enos was...after all that is why he was out hunting, but once the testimony of the words of his father sunk deep into his heart his hunger for the spiritual far outweighed the hunger for the spiritual.

What is the difference between testimony and conversion? And more importantly, how does one become converted? The next few days as we look at Enos we are going to look at how Enos takes his faith from knowledge, to testimony to conversion, and how we can do the same!
