Happy Mother's Day everyone! Today we will talk about the process of conversion, and how when we come to understand who Christ is, we naturally want to repent and be more like Him. That will lead us, as Alma said, to mourn with those who mourn, and to comfort those that stand in need of comfort. 

Often times when we talk about the martyrdom of Abinadi we say that he was killed for teaching about Christ...that isn't necessarily true! TOday we will look at why King Noah was so angry, and what we can do to keep from falling into the same trap.

Have you ever wondered why Mormon placed the plates of Zeniff where he did. Right after the sermon of King Benjamin he added these plates which contain the story of King Noah. I believe that Mormon did it on purpose to show us the contrast between righteous leadership and wicked leadership. The question is, what can you and I learn?

Abinadi teached that the "sting of death is swallowed up in Christ." In what ways has that been true in your life? There are several ways that Christ takes the sting our of death, and today we will talk about how.

God obeys His laws, or He would cease to be God. Abinadi teaches that the Savior stands between us, and all our sins and mistakes, and the law of justice, and by so doing he frees us from suffering the demands of the law. So what is our part? We will talk about it today.

What can the submissiveness and condescension of Jesus Christ teach us about obtaining happiness in this life? We will talk about it today! 

Mosiah tells the priests of Noah that they don't understand with their hearts. What is the role of our hearts in gospel learning? We will talk about tit today!

In this chapter we so often get focused on the incredible wickedness of the people that we overlook the overwhelming mercy of God. Rather than writing the people off and walking away, He sends them a prophet to invite them to repent, and to change. God is always inviting us to make changes in our lives, through prophets and through the Holy Ghost. Our receptiveness to those invitations will determ...

Who were the Laminites and what was in their hearts? Today we talk about how anger and resentment distanced the Laminites for others and from God.

As Zeniff prepares his people for war, we can learn a lot about the things we can do to strengthen and fortify our homes and lives against the adversary.

What are some things that Zeniff did that could have led his family away from worshiping God? What our our responsibilities to the children in our lives? Today we will talk about some pitfalls of Zeniff and how to avoid them in our families.

The scriptures talk about the sin of "Vain Ambition." Is that what lead to the downfall of Zeniff and his people? 

Ammon is going to teach Limhi the difference between a Prophet, a Seer and a Revelator, and we are going to talk about the blessing it is for us to have 15 of them on the Earth today!

Limhi tells his people that God allowed these trials to come upon them because of their wickedness. Today we will talk a little bit about why God allows bad things to happen, and the blessings promised during times of trial for the righteous. 

Today I am going to run through the timeline of Mosiah, because if you are anything like me, this timeline is a little hard to follow. Then we see how Limhi responds when he meets Ammon, he rejoices and asks his people to rejoice as they remember God's power to deliver. 

After this INCREDIBLE conversion, the people went home with to their homes with their families. Maybe that seems like an obvious detail, but I don't think Mormon included anything by chance. I think there is an important lesson here about the importance of fostering conversion in our homes!

This is King Benjamin's mic drop! His desire is that we should be steadfast and immovable, so that Christ can SEAL us His. That is pretty much the greatest promise I can imagine...but what exactly does it mean? We will talk about it today!

What does it mean to write the name of Christ upon our hearts? Today we will talk about how the center of our hearts determines our identity, self worth, strength to act and our moral compass. When we keep Christ written at the center we stay grounded in ALL aspects of our lives!

What's in a name? Actually quite a lot...depending of the name you choose to bear. Today we will talk about what it means to take upon ourselves the name of Christ, and 3 things we can do to bear that name well. 

Here again in Mosiah 5 we see the pattern of belief, to testimony, to conversion! We also get a clearer picture on how to have that mighty change of heart and to rely on He who is "mighty to save."

King Benjamin tells the people that they can "always retain a remission of (their) sins." I don't know about you guys...but I WANT THAT! Today we will talk about what that means and how we obtain that blessing!

Today we will take a look at what it means to have peace of conscience vs having peace of mind. Also, multiple times in the scriptures someone says that man is nothing...Moses said it, now King Benjamin, what does that exactly mean? Maybe not what you've always thought!

Who is the natural man, and how do we rid ourselves of him so that we can become as a child? Today we will look at this iconic scripture and learn how to become a saint.

King Benjamin tells his people that an angel came to him to declare that which would "fill them with joy." What was it? What is the doctrine that, when understood will fill us with joy? We will look into that today! 

King Benjamin lays side by side the consequences of unrepentant disobedience, vs repentant obedience. When you compare the 2 it is pretty motivating to stay on the covenant path!
