Today, while reading Jacob 7 I noticed something I had never seen before. Sherem challenges Jacob and asks for a sign. Jacob responds that he didn't want to tempt God and ask for a sign of things that Sherem already knew! How did Sherem go from being a believer of Christ, to someone trying to destroy the faith of other? How can we protect and maintain our testimonies?

Jacob 6 seemed to be the end of Jacob's writing, he had said his goodbyes! But what was so important that it caused him to write one last chapter? He wanted to teach us about Sherem the anti-christ, in hopes that by doing so, you and I could learn to recognize the lies of the adversary. 

The greatest sermon ever taught in 3 words! OH BE WISE! After spending his life teaching his people the doctrines of Christ, Jacob signs off by teaching them that it is time for them to take that knowledge that he has given them, and put it into action. 

God has enlisted us in His work, and he has promised us certain blessings when we work with all our might. Today we are going to talk about the promises of the Lord when we make His work and glory our work as well. 

Elder Holland taught that we can learn more about the nature of God from this allegory than almost any other piece of scripture! What did he mean by that? And what is our role in working the vineyard?

Today as I was reading in Jacob 5 it became super personal to me and showed me how often times the Lord will treat me as he treats the tree in this allegory. He is ever present in our lives, even when we feel we can't see him there.

Part 1 of the Allegory of the Olive Tree. I can't even tell you how many times I have read this chapter and then thought, "What did I just read?" Today I want to give you the symbols used and what they mean so that it can help us decipher this allegory.

Seek not to counsel the Lord, but to take counsel from his hand! Seems so simple, so obvious...but often times it is so hard to do. Today we are going to talk about some ways where we might be trying to counsel the Lord, and how we can try instead to take counsel from his hand. 

When is a time that you have received revelation from the scriptures? Jacob talked about receiving revelation from the words of the prophets, and that those witnesses filled him with hope and strength. Are we receiving those same blessings from the scriptures? 

Jacob talks about how he has taught his people many things but can only wrote a few of them because of how difficult it is to engrave on the plates. Today we are going to talk about why metal plates were necessary and how it actually wasn't uncommon to write on plates of metal in that day .

Have you ever suffered because of the actions of someone else? In Jacob 3, Jacob talks to the women and children, because he knows that they are suffering from the poor choices of the men. He give us a few things we can do when our hearts hurt from the actions of others.

Why does Jacob say that pride will "destroy your soul?" Is it really that bad? Today we will look at pride and how the sin of pride destroys our relationships with others and with God. 

Today in Jacob 1 we will look at what the words of Jacob teach us about being a good leader in the church, what attributes we can develop to help us serve better! Also, we will take a look at verses 15 and 16 and discuss the dangers of "somewhat."

What do we actually know about the prophet Jacob? Today we will find out more about him by looking at what the scriptures have to say about him. Plus we will study what Jacob considers to be the "most precious" things that should be included in the small plates. 

I MUST OBEY!!!! Could any other 3 words sum up who Nephi was better???? I don't think so! Today we will look at Nephi's obedience, as well as his declaration that Christ has redeemed his soul from hell. 

The final testimony of Nephi! Today we will talk about the first part of his testimony, where he testifies of the power of the the Holy Ghost UNTO the hearts of the children of men, and his desires for his writings to be a strength and power to those who would read it! If only he knew then that his words would change millions of lives and hearts!

Today we will look at the 2nd thing that Nephi teaches us that we can do to increase personal revelation in our lives!

In this chapter Nephi wants to teach his people how to obtain revelation for themselves but they don't seem to understand. Today we will look at the 1st of 2 ways he teaches them to obtain revelation, with the promise that if they seek, and do these things, Christ can teach them ALL things! 

What does it mean that a remission of our sins comes by fire and by the Holy Ghost? Also, we will look more in depth at verse 20, what is a perfect brightness of hope, and how do we obtain it?

Today, I LEARNED SOMETHING I NEVER REALIZED BEFORE!!!!! It was so exciting for me! So I'll share it with you! (You guys probably already knew it and will think, "DUH Lynzi!" But I was so excited!) Also, what does it really mean when the Savior said He was baptized to fulfill all righteousness? We will take a look! 

Nephi says that he is satisfied with the things which he had written, but that he still has a few more things of his heart that he wants to share. Considering these are his last words they were probably super important to him. Today we will be talking about "the doctrines of Christ." What are they? And why are they so important?

Nephi talks about the division that will happen between the righteous and the wicked before and at the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ, and the peace that will be found as Satan is bound during the Millennium. But did you know that Pres. Kimball promised that we could obtain that peace and bind Satan in our lives now? We will talk about how in today's Daily Dose. 

2nd Nephi 29 teaches us some reasons why God brought forth the Book of Mormon in the latter-day. But the coming forth of the Book of Mormon also teaches us about 4 important characteristics of God. How have these attributes of God blessed your life?

Today we talk about a warning given in 2nd Nephi 28:7-8, and we take a deeper look into how to protect ourselves from the lies of the adversary.

Today we are going to to look at 2nd Nephi 28 where the Lord teaches about the tools that the adversary will use in the latter-days, and the promises given if we obey God's commandments.
