The Anti Nephi Lehis have so much they can teach us about what it means to truly repent. They help us understand that God's great gift of repentance can grant us lasting peace.

In this chapter the father of King Lamoni grants religious freedom to the Laminites. What can we learn about religious freedom based on this act?

This has got to be one of my FAVORITE scripture stories! I love what we can learn from the father of King Lamoni about how we can better come to know Heavenly Father.

We live in a world that seriously feels addicted to outrage, what can you and I do to keep the contention from entering into our hearts? 

The heart of the father of King Lamoni was changed all because he witnessed the unconditional love that Ammon had for Lamoni. Imagine how lives could be changed as we all learned to love the way Christ loves.

Today these verses remind us of 2 extremely important things: 1st God keeps His promises, and 2nd Christ redeems all...even those who may not feel worthy of redemption.

Ammon says that "light had infused such joy" into Lamoni's soul! What a wonderful description of what the gospel does for us!

Mormon teaches us something interesting about the Laminite's belief system here in these verses. He teaches us that they believed in a Higher Power, but they believed that that Higher Power didn't care what they did. This is a lie that Satan told then...and it's a lie that he still tells today! God DOES care about what we do, today we will discuss why!

In today's chapters Alma is going to meet up with the son's of Mosiah, and he is overjoyed to see that they are still wonderful, faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. In verses 2 and 3 we get the chance to see what they did that helped them not just stay strong in the face of adversity...but to thrive in it.

Today we are going to real talk about the strength that can be found in meeting together with the saints often...I know funny timing since we haven't been able to gather in months. We will also see what we can learn from Alma as he ministers to a brokenhearted Amulek.

When Alma and Amulek enter into Sidom they are summoned to the bed of Zeezrom. They show us incredible examples of meekness and forgiveness and they go immediately to him. Also we find out the sacrifices Amulek makes to follow the word of God.  

Part 2 of Alma chapter 14: Why bad things happen to good people. 

This is part 1 or 2 for Alma chapter 14. So many people struggle to believe in God because they can't understand a God that would allow bad things to happen to good people. Today and tomorrow, through the story told in chapter 14 we will talk about Why bad things happen in our lives, how we can maintain our faith in God, and what we can learn.

3 different times in Alma chapter 13 it talks about entering into the Lord's rest! 3 times in just a few verses!!!!! Today we are going to take a look at things we can do to receive that rest, today and in the next life.

Alma talks about the priests being made worthy through a preparatory redemption. We talk about Christ being "Mighty to Save," but He is so mighty to save that he began saving us before he ever stepped foot into Gethsemane! Talk about an infinite atonement!

In this chapter Alma teaches the people about the priesthood and foreordination. What exactly does it mean to be foreordained? How does that play in to our agency? And how can we know what God wants us to do?

After realizing that Amulek was discerning his thoughts by the power of God Zeezrom's attitude began to change. Now instead of asking questions to ensnare them, he was asking questions to understand who God is.

Here, Zeezrom asks Amulek to give up something of infinite worth, for something of little importance. When we see it in the scriptures it seems so silly that anyone would do that, yet often times in little ways we choose to sacrifice the things of the Spirit for that of little worth.

Today we are going to talk about the Nephite monetary system and how it compared to a system used in the old world at the Lehi...Ok I know that sounds super boring, but I promise IT IS SO COOL!!!! In fact, I nerd out in a huge way over stuff like this!

Today Amulek gets tag teamed in, to teach the people. We learn an important lesson about how important it is to hear the Lord when He is trying to speak to us!

Have you ever noticed that when a Book of Mormon prophet is calling a group of people to repentance one of the first things they say is, "how have you so easily forgotten?" What is it about remembering that preserves testimony? Today we will talk about it!

Here, as Alma is feeling like a massive failure, an angel of the Lord comes and tells him to rejoice! The Lord wasn't concerned that Alma's time in Ammonihah hadn't yielded immediate or measurable success, he was rejoicing in the fact that Alma had been obedient to everything that the Lord had asked Him to do. Can you and I get ourselves to believe that the Lord is equally pleased with our efforts...

Heavenly Father asks us all to do hard things, we all get discouraged, we all feel like failures at times. But we can take heart and trust in the Lord, knowing that if He commanded us...then He will find a way.

The description of what the Savior does for us, and why, that is found in these verses, should be all we ever need to understand the pure love that He has for us!

Because of the power of the Spirit that came to the people as Alma preached most repented, and those who hadn't previously joined the church were baptized. Alma gave a special invitation to the members on behalf of those who didn't yet know God, and it would be so powerful for us in our day!
