I love reading this chapter as if it were an instruction manual to the prophets. After all, Alma was teaching and preparing Helaman for that very role. When I think of it like that verses 33 and 34 take on a deeper richer meaning to me.

Alma teaches that its the small and simple things that make the biggest difference. Imagine the power we could have if we started each day pondering what small things we could do that day.

Today, with permission from my friend Tammy, I share a modern day Alma the Younger conversion experience. Scott's testimony, although I have never been blessed to meet him, has been a part of my own conversion. It has made me aware of the Lord's constant outstretched hand, and His desire to run to us, when we let Him. 

Today we talk about the Lord's pattern when He calls us to repentance, and how it differs from the adversary trying to make us miserable, (spoiler alert) It's all about the Hope!

What really converted Alma...was it the angel? We will talk about true conversion and where to find it today!

If you were to guess one of the most repeated phrases of the Book of Mormon, what would you guess? Today we will talk about my guess, as well as the promise Alma gives (that we all really need right now) If we put our trust in the Lord, he will lift us up in our troubles.

What I love about this chapter and the teachings of Amulek is he shows us an order to conversion. 1st, understand who Jesus Christ is and His atonement. 2nd, show your faith through repentance and begin that relationship with God. 3rd, deepen that relationship and be converted through consistent communication with Him. And do it now, because this life is the time.  

Today we look at where Mercy, Love and Justice meet...I like to call it Grace.

Amulek says that he knows that Christ will come because God said it! I LOVE THAT FAITH. That isn't just believing in God, that is BELIEVING HIM!

Alma is going to explain one of my favorite scripture stories. Today the story of the Brass serpent will teach us about PERSONAL redemption. 

After teaching about the importance of nourishing the seed he makes a disclaimer, DON"T STOP WORKING! We don't live in a world that allows us the luxury of ever stopping our efforts to build our faith!

I believe can be a powerful statement. The statement of belief is an invitation to act and obtain a witness of that belief. 

The poorest of the Zoramites, who had been kicked out of their churches, embrace the gospel. But Alma helps them see that they can worship God anywhere, Amid this pandemic I am so grateful for the chance to worship God more fully in my home!

YOU GUYS! When Alma and the other missionaries hear the prayer of the Zoramites They. Are. Shook! Today we will talk about why the general attitude of the Zoramites was so dangerous!

Ever wonder where things went to wrong with the Zoramites??? It started with, as President Nelson says, a cafeteria approach to the commandments!

Elder Packer said, "True doctrine, understood, changes attitudes and behavior." Alma understood this, and he understood it well. He knew that if there were any chance for lasting change to come among the Zoramites, that it would only come as they understood the word of God. 

To those who have hearts to believe, ALL things denote that there is a God!

Korihor pulls many of the Nephites away into unbelief. But when he goes to Jershon to try to pull the Anti Nephi Lehi's into disbelief they go to someone else for understanding. When we meet our own Anti-Christ's, no matter the form, we often have to reach up for help and understanding. 

Korihor comes among the Nephites and teaches them all sorts of lies. One thing he says in particular is so fascinating to me. He calls the people "Yoked" by their beliefs. I want to tell him, "ABSOLUTELY! I am yoked by my belief in Christ!" Just not in the way that Korihor is meaning! 

President Benson taught that the Book of Mormon brings us to Christ in 2 ways, by teaching about Him, and by identifying the enemy. Today we will talk about the teachings of the Anti-Christ's that we have seen so far. How do you see those same teachings in our day? We will also talk about how we can intentionally CHOOSE to worship God, this day, and everyday!

Oh That I were an angel!!!! I love Alma's desires. They truly show his conversion and his pure Christ-like character.

Today we look at 2 groups, the Nephites and the Anti Nephi Lehis. Both groups show us an incredible example of what it means to be a follower of Christ. 

Have you ever felt the influence of the Savior and wanted to shout it from the rooftops? The Laminites did, Alma did, and we can too!

Ammon is so excited talking about all the wonderful things they have experienced, and he gives all the Glory to God. One of the greatest blessing of going through hard things is the chance that it gives us to look back and see how the hand of God was in our lives throughout it all.
