Today we are going to talk a bit about the wonderful woman and matriarch that Sarah was, and the lessons we can learn from her!

Because there was no Ram in the thicket for Christ, there is ALWAYS a ram in the thicket for US!

Today we begin the story of Abraham and Isaac, and we look at some of the rich symbolism of the Savior found there. 

Today we talk about the Christlike quality of peacemaking, and the true power that giving up contention can bring into our lives.

Today we discuss the second sacrifice of Sarah, and what we can learn by example of our attitudes towards the messengers of God. 

Elder Maxwell warned of the dangers of trying to keep a summer home in Babylon. Here in this chapters we see the danger of trying to do just that!

Most of the time when we hear the words Sodom and Gomorrah we think of destruction and wickedness. But I want to reframe that a little. Because here in this chapter as Abraham talks to the Lord about Sodom and Gomorrah we see a God that is filled with mercy and ready to offer mercy as often as we ask. 

God has not ceased to be a God of miracles, but sometimes we cease being a people who are able to see them 

Today we talk about the the Lord's timing in fulfilling His promises and the gift that He gives us every week to become new.  

In the promises that God makes to Abraham, we can see the resounding principle that God can take us and take our efforts and make them more than we could ever be on our own!

Today we learn about the humility of Abraham and we learn about how we can stay safely on the Lord's side of the line as we learn to point our lives toward Christ. 

Often we talk about the sacrifice of Abraham. But could this story today in Genesis 12 be the sacrifice of Sarah?

Today we discuss the 3 P's of the Abrahamic Covenant. And we learn from Abraham how to have faith and courage to move forward in hard things. 

Today we talk about what I am sure will be a running theme throughout the Old Testament, and that is the Deliverance of God. We worship a God who delivers. Whether He is delivering us from death, pain or sickness or whether He is delivering us from heartache or hurt, God delivers and we can see His deliverance as we have faith in Him. 

Today we talk about the righteous desires of our heart, and how our righteous desires are God's desires for us!

Today we discuss the counterfeits of Satan in his efforts to deceive us and loose our focus on Christ. 

God invites us to make covenants with Him for the purpose of blessing and strengthening us. Today we talk about 3 random principles that can be learned from the flood. I love these principles and they either didn't fit in anywhere else, or I ran out of time on days they fit! HAHA so I am putting them together today! 

Today we talk about the love and mercy of God that we can see even and perhaps especially in the story of the flood.

Today we learn how even though we are often asked to face tasks that seem beyond our ability, God is able to direct us line upon line.

Here we see God's great mercy on His children and His desire to give them every chance possible to choose Him. 

The grand daughters of Noah, even though they had been taught differently, chose to turn their backs on their covenants to follow the world. As the scripture says, "they sold themselves." How do we sometimes do the same?

When Enoch is finally able to see the inhabitants of the Earth through God's eyes he weeps for the lost as well. But God, in order to comfort and teach Enoch tells him to "be glad and look." When we struggle, when we hurt, when we mourn and weep, we can find peace and comfort and we can even be glad as we look to the Prince of Peace. 

God gave us knowledge and He gave us our agency even though He knew that would mean some would choose to not follow Him. But He weeps and He mourns when we use that agency to hurt and judge one another.
