Come Follow Me- Daily Dose

There are times in our lives where the waves and winds of live throw us around like a boat on the sea. It can be terrifying and devastating. As we turn our attention to Christ, He can calm the winds, or at the very least, calm our hearts. 

Do we sometimes get comfortable in our discipleship and we forget that following Christ will always come with a cost, we need to sacrifice to be better able to follow Christ. 

In 3 very different ways, we get the chance to see the divine attribute of being "quick to observe" in action. May we make every effort to see the needs of those around us and spring to action to bless the lives of others. 

Comparing the miracle of the leper to the healing of the centurion's servant shows us that at the center of all miracles is faith to be healed, humility to approach the Savior in our "uncleanliness" and trust in the Lord's will over our own.  

Today we begin to see the Savior's ministry of miracles. In our lives the Savior is showing forth His power and His miracles if only we will have eyes to see them and faith to call them miracles. 

Have you ever thought about how our all loving Father in Heaven probably DELIGHTS in blessing you and answering your prayers? When we understand His desire to bless us, it makes us anxious to ask, seek and knock!

What does proximity teach us about righteous judgment? The Savior will teach us beautifully! 

The Lord wants to provide for His children. He loves us, He cares about our needs. But part of trusting Him means trusting in the ways that He chooses to bless and provide. 

What is my motivation? It seems that is the question that the Savior is trying to get us to consider as he teaches us about living righteously. 

The second half of the Lords prayer teaches us about our daily reliance on God.

Today the Savior teaches us in word and example how to pray and how to better connect with our Heavenly Father. 

Today we talk about our motivations with a little help from Pres. Monson and Henry VanDyke. 

Be ye therefore PERFECT?!? That feels daunting and overwhelming! Until you cross reference it to Moroni 10:32. We can be perfect in some things in this life...but infinite perfection doesn't happen by our own willpower. It happens as we allow ourselves to be PERFECTED.

The Savior teaches us a way that we can better approach the sacrament each week.

Today we talk about the Telestial, Terrestrial and Celestial laws! 

Today we talk about Christ's mandate for us to preserve the covenant and reflect His light in our lives for all to see. 

Today we learn about purity over perfection and disagreeing better instead of disagreeing less. 

Today we continue talking about the Beatitudes and what we can learn from them as we approach them from a foundation of faith in Jesus Christ. 

The Savior starts His great sermon by helping us understand that all faith should be centered on Him to help us gain power and strength sufficient to follow Him. 

Water is critical to our lives, without it we can't survive. We need a consistent source of water and we need to drink it everyday. Christ teaches the woman at the well that He is the Living Water. Without Him, we cannot survive spiritually. We need to find consistent ways to infuse our lives with His spirit. 

Are there people in our lives that we look at as Samaritans? Whether consciously or subconsciously? What can we learn from Christ about meeting people where they are and loving them for who they are? 

Today we talk about Jesus Christ being the greatest evidence we have of the absolute love that our Father in Heaven has for us.

When Jesus threw the money changers out of the temple, what can we learn about controlling anger from that situation?

Christ didn't just take the water and transform it into the same quality of wine that there was before, he made it better. He can do the same thing for us through His enabling power. He doesn't just take us and return us sinless, through the enabling power he sanctifies us and makes us higher and holier.
