Come Follow Me- Daily Dose

The Savior teaches us about true compassion, and shows us how we need to look for the hungry and find ways to feed them. 

Today we learn the dangers of not accepting correction from our Father in Heaven with humility. 

The Savior asks us to cast our net as wide as we possibly can, to gather in everyone we can, and he will worry about the rest. 

It's intriguing to me the Lord's command to let the wheat and the tares grow together. If we are going to live in a wheat and tares world we better become some strong wheat! By focusing our efforts on strengthening our roots, the strength of the tares diminishes from our lives! 

Today we talk about the wheat and the tares and how one modern day apostle has taught us to be wheat in a tares world.

As we seek to cultivate the word of God in our hearts, we need to give ourselves and others grace, recognizing that improvement and repentance are part of this mortal experience. 

Today we talk about how we can root ourselves deeply and firmly in the gospel as well has what it takes to wee out the negative things of the world that would seek to destroy our faith. 

Keeping deep roots in the gospel requires daily dilligence in the things that deepen our testimonies. 

Today we talk a little bit about parables and how the Savior's parables are just one more piece of evidence of His great love and mercy on us. 

Lord teach us to pray. It is my belief that as we ask Him to teach us individually how to pray His answer to each of us will be different and catered to what we need. 

What does it mean that the Sabbath was made for us? Are me making the most of that precious gift?

Today we talk about the judgement of the Pharisees. And how in judging the Savior's disciples they were actually breaking a higher law.  

As we dive a little deeper into what a yoke is, we can feel more of our Savior's love and protective care for us! 

How do we come unto Christ? And what is the rest that He promises?

What do we come to see? The Savior asks His followers to consider that question, and we should consider it as well. When we come to the sacrament table, to the temple, to hear the words of the prophets, what are we coming to see? If we come to see the Savior, it is my testimony that we can experience His love. 

Today we learn the importance of seeking out a testimony for ourselves, and of not being offended. 

As we finish out the Savior's advice to the 12 about how to better follow Him, we can see invitations to us as His followers in the Latter-days. 

The Savior gives His apostles certain responsibilities, and not surprising, they are the same responsibilities the 12 have in our day, and he teaches us that we are safe to trust Him, even when we can't see the end from the beginning.  

Today we ask the question what helps us follow Christ. What guides do we have to come to Him? Just as we see Christ call and give power to the 12 in His day to point others to Christ, the prophets and apostles today will point us to the Savior as we heed their messages. 

When the Savior turns and asks, "who touched my clothes?" I don't think He was cared that He was touched, or that strength had left Him. I think that He knew that someone needed Him. That there was someone in that crowd who needed His one on one ministry. 

When we reach out for the Savior with all our faith and all our hearts then we can draw His power into our lives!

As we face the things of mortality that scare us or cause us to face our challenges the Savior reminds us that we can counteract that by focusing on our faith in Him. 

The Savior loves you and invites you to come unto Him no matter where you are or what you have done. He isn't concerned with others opinion of you. He sees your heart and who you can become. 

As we come to know Christ in the New Testament and we see His power to deliver spiritually and physically and we see the compassion that He has, we can take heart knowing that the loving and compassionate Christ of the New Testament is the Savior that worship today. 

Do we have the kind of friends that bring us to Christ? More importantly, are we the kind of friends that bring others to Christ? If we will strive to point others to the Savior, naturally we will come closer to Him ourselves.
