The Lord gives "not God" to the one who desires him not, but He will not fail to deliver his people, out of his own desire, from the distress, anguish, gloom, and darkness of this life and world. We must ask God to recreate hope in us in Him to deliver us and not foreign physical or spiritual powers.

In Jesus coming to return us to God, it means that we all must not be like the religious leaders in refusing to give Jesus the honor due for his authority as the Son of God. Rather, we must give Jesus the honor due to Him, Caesar the honor due to Him, and to God what is God's.

Though it seems that the rejection of the Son by the religious leaders will ruin God's plan as they will kill him, in fact this is what brings about Jesus Christ being made the Cornerstone. This means we must not plead ignorance to protect our idols as the religious leaders do, but instead worship God knowing that all of our worship is built upon and given through the Cornerstone Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is embodiment of God's presence, the only worship that is blessed and fruitful is Christ-centered.

Jesus embraces His Kingship by fulfilling prophesy. The people embrace Christ’s kingship by worshiping Him with all they have.

See the blind man crying out in his desperation. See that Jesus shows his mercy by hearing, halting, and healing. See that you must choose on whose way you will go.

Jesus leads the way to suffering, death, and resurrection. He leads the way unlike the rulers of the earth do. Jesus leads the way as the Servant of servants. So will you follow him wherever he goes?

Because Jesus brings eternal life in his Kingdom, we must trust him by abandoning our normal resources of human security, value, and identity in this life.

Jesus blesses little children. This teaches us about what his kingdom is really like and how we must enter it.

Psalm 41 concludes Book 1 of the Psalms. It brings together three great themes of the Psalms up until this point with a story of when King David is at his low point. Psalm 41 looks forward to how Blessing, Suffering and Praise come together in the life of King Jesus.

God loves justice, so he causes the wicked to fade away and have no future, he causes the righteous to remain and have a future, and will make all things right. We need greater faith to not fret, to live righteously now, and to wait patiently for Ps 37 to be true when Jesus returns.
