Given the Canucks strong performance under Rick Tocchet (and the strong play of their best players), can this team...if healthy...be a contender next season?

The Canucks defeated the Anaheim Ducks 2-1, ending off their road trip with 2 out of 3 wins. As well, Quinn Hughes hit the 60 assist mark for the second straight season, joining some very elite company.

Despite two-point nights from Elias Pettersson and Anthony Beauvillier, the Canucks lost 3-2 to the Arizona Coyotes, snapping their five-game winning streak.

Brock Boeser has been one of the most effective forwards under Rick Tocchet. Does this make you want to keep him or move him?

Brock Boeser (with 3 assists) led the Canucks to a 5-2 victory over the Dallas Stars.  The club has now won 5 straight games.

The Canucks signed 2019 draft pick Aidan McDonough to a two-year entry-level contract.  As well, I was joined by my lovely wife Gail who was celebrating her birthday today.

With their 5-2 victory over the visiting Ottawa Senators last night, the Canucks are riding their first four-game winning streak of the season.

With every victory, the Canucks lessen their chances of winning the Connor Bedard sweepstakes. But are you happy to see the team playing better?

JT Miller had two goals and Elias Pettersson notched two assists in the Canucks 3-2 win over the Ducks. It was Vancouver's third straight win.

Both Elias Pettersson (300 career points) and Quinn Hughes (fastest defenceman to 200 career assists) celebrated milestones recently, so I wanted to appreciate them and ask the tricky question of which one is more important to the team?

The Canucks defeated the Dallas Stars 5-4 in overtime in the return of Thatcher Demko.  As well, newly-acquired forward Vitali Kravtsov made his Canucks debut.

The Canucks made a trade for Vitali Kravstov, but defenceman Luke Schenn is still await word of his fate.  We also look at some of the massive trades from the weekend.

Elias Pettersson led the way with 3 points (including the overtime winner) in the Canucks' 3-2 overtime win over the St. Louis Blues.  As well, Aatu Raty made his debut with the Canucks, logging just under 8 minutes of ice time.

Who might get moved before or on the March 3 trade deadline?  We talk about Luke Schenn, Brock Boeser, Conor Garland, and Tyler Myers.  As well, we talk about Aatu Raty being called up from Abbotsford.

The Canucks fell 5-4 in overtime to the Predators in Nashville. Andrei Kuzmenko led the way with 2 goals, while Tyler Myers was noticeable for all the wrong reasons.  And Luke Schenn was sent back to Vancouver as he awaits a trade.

The Canucks are locked in a battle with 6 other teams at the bottom of the NHL standings.  Not that that's a bad thing this season!  As well, I look at Canucks players who made be traded by the March 3 deadline.

Arturs Silovs made 22 saves in his Canucks debut as the team fell 6-4 to the visiting New York Rangers.  Elias Pettersson and Andrei Kuzmenko each had 2 points to lead the Canucks.  Oliver Ekman-Larsson and Curtis Lazar were both injured in the contest.

The Detroit Red Wings easily defeated the Canucks 6-1 at Rogers Arena.  I recount my experience sitting next to a couple who spent their time and hard-earned money to attend their first game in years...and how frustrating and disappointing it must have been for them.

Andrei Kuzmenko - fresh off a new two-year contract extension - has seen his role and ice time reduced under coach Rick Tocchet.  Is this a small blip or something to be concerned about?

Less than 2 weeks after being traded in the same deal, both Anthon Beauvillier and Bo Horvat scored against their former teams in the Canucks 6-5 victory over the Islanders. Brock Boeser led the way with 4 points while Elias Pettersson chipped in 3 points.

The Canucks were defeated 4-3 by the New York Rangers.  Conor Garland, Vasily Podkolzin, and Elias Pettersson scored for the Canucks.  Both Quinn Hughes and Luke Schenn were injured during the game; Hughes came back to play but Schenn did not.
