The Canucks dropped a 2-1 decision to the Seattle Kraken. The game was played in Abbotsford and featured a half dozen players who are destined to start there. Much to the chagrin of some of the paying customers.

In today's show, we discuss your expectations for this Canucks team. Do you expect them to make the playoffs? Why or why not? And if not...will it be time for a full dismantling of the roster?

All 5 Canucks players who were placed on waivers yesterday got through, including Jack Rathbone, Matt Irwin, and Sheldon Dries. We talk about their chances of seeing some time with the big club...either this season or down the road. As well, we have an extended AMA that left me feeling pretty good about myself!

We talk about last night's 5-2 win over the visiting Edmonton Oilers. Quinn Hughes led the way with 2 goals and an assist, and Brock Boeser had 4 assists. As well, the Canucks trimmed their roster by 21 players today as they prepare to start the season on October 11. We talk about the rationale behind the cuts, and who might be the final cuts before the season opener.

The Canucks dropped a 3-1 decision to the Seattle Kraken, marking their third straight loss in the preseason. A few players did well, including Thatcher Demko, Ian Cole, Filip Hronek, and Dakota Joshua. For many other players, that was probably their last preseason action as the team will likely make cuts before their next game this Saturday at home vs. the Oilers.

The Canucks ran two full practices at UBC today and the line combos and d-pairings gave us an intriguing look at what Rick Tocchet is thinking about as they prepare for their season opener two weeks from now. In particular, Jack Studnicka and Nils Aman were in for Vasily Podkolzin and Dakota Joshua, and Cole McWard got to skate with Quinn Hughes.

Now that we've all had a chance to sleep on the Canucks' disastrous 10-0 loss to the Flames last night, I ask the community if they feel any better...or worse...about the team. We talk about the players who played well and those who didn't...and what it might mean for them going forward.

The Canucks struggled mightily against a Flames squad that had more than half of their regulars in the line up. The skill and experience discrepancy was obvious as the Flames handily defeated the Canucks 10-0. Akito Hirose, Jack Studnicka, Aatu Raty, and Nils Hoglander were the best players for the Canucks. Conversely, Jett Woo, Noah Juulsen, Vasily Podkolzin, and Arturs Silovs had rough outings....

Canucks training camp officially opened today and I break down all of the line combos and d-pairings...and whether or not we should read anything into them. I also talk about Ilya Mikheyev's absence, and the comments of Elias Pettersson, Quinn Hughes, and Rick Tocchet in their respective media availabilities.
