Church at the Oaks

This week, we continued walking through the Whole Story series, covering the book of Esther. Britton helped us to see where God was working in the book of Esther, discerning coincidence from divine intervention.

This week, Britton walked us through what the exile looked like after the fall of Jerusalem. This is where the Israelites were commanded to build houses, make families, and seek the welfare of Babylon.

This week, Britton preached on the Fall of Jerusalem, the lowest point in the Old Testament. We have all had times where we experience the consequences of our sin. In these Scriptures, we see the result of lots of progressive sin.

Christian brings us the word this Sunday looking at Acts 1:8. Through the Holy Spirit inside of us, our life with Jesus is inseparable from the mission of Christ.

This week, Britton walks us through Isaiah 53 where a savior, Jesus, is prophesied as a suffering servant to be nailed to a cross for our transgressions.

Continuing our sermon series, The Whole Story, we have reached the well-known story of Noah's ark, and the flood. This scripture emphasizes the seriousness of sin, the harsh yet just punishment sin requires, and the need for a savior! We are starting to see a pattern in scripture emerge: Divine promise, man's disobedience, God's judgement against sin, God's redemption.
