Church at the Oaks

This week Britton walks us through Colossians 1: 9-14. In this passage we are reminded that God's will is not a secret that we have to search for. Because God's will is not a secret we are challenged to be reminded of the Gospel and bear good fruit because of it. At Oaks we bear good fruit by sending disciplemakers of Jesus by being disciplemakers of Jesus.

Ben, our ministry resident, starts our series in Colossians with Chapter 1:1-8. Through these verses we learned that as a church community we walk in the same direction, we are confident in the SAME gospel and as we do these things we expect God to move in great ways. This week, Britton walks us through the sending of the 12 and 72 in Luke 9:1-9 and Luke 10:1-11. The passage reveals that once we are saved we are sent. To be sent means to be willing to leave all comfort and security behind to pursue people for the Great Commission. At Oaks, we send disciplemakers of Jesus by being disciplemakers of Jesus.

This week, Britton led us through Psalm 127. This psalm reminds us that our own efforts are nothing without God's active provision and encourages us to rely on Him in all ways!

This week, church planting resident Ben Hewitt, uses Psalm 23 to walk us through what it looks like to abide in Christ daily! That the Lord is the good shepherd, that protects and guides his followers!

This week, Pastor Britton continues our sermon series "Highs and Lows" with Psalm 13. Britton explains that, even in our lament, we can trust in the Lord!

In this sermon Britton continues walking us through our Whole Story series. We looked at the Great Commission in Matthew 28 where Jesus calls his disciples together and tells them the mission he is leaving them with. This is the same mission Christians have today, is it the mission of your life?

This Sunday, Britton walked us through the story of Thomas doubting the resurrection of Jesus and how Jesus met him in his questions.

The tomb is empty. He is risen! The resurrection of Jesus changed everything. Has it changed you?

This week, Britton walks us through Holy Week. Beginning when Jesus enters Jerusalem welcomed by palm branches to him being crucified on the cross. 

This week, Steven walks us through Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus about what it means to be "born again" and how to be born of the Spirit.

This week, Sam walks us through how Jesus did not abolish the Law or the Prophets but rather to fulfill them. Jesus lives a perfect life, fulfilling the righteous requirement.

This week we continued our sermon series "The Whole Story" by diving into the books of Ezra and Nehemiah. After seventy years in exile, the Israelites are finally allowed to come back into the Promised Land. But the people of God find that a change of scenery doesn't fix the real problem--the problem of their hearts.
