Jesus concludes the sermon on the mount with a story of two men who build a house. The similarities between these men are interesting. The differences are alarming! There's one key difference that we need to be aware of - will we not just hear Jesus' words but actually do them? This is huge!

Now towards the end of Jesus' sermon, he begin to lay out choices that we must make. Will we choose to walk with Him toward eternal life? Who will we allow to influence our lives? Two huge questions that all of us must answer personally.

A lot of people think the bible says that we shouldn't judge. But actually this who passage today is about learning to judge and doing it well! We're meant to judge and discern life with Jesus' heart, with humility, while seeking God for wisdom, and caring for others like we want to be cared for.

Jesus' does so well in the section of His sermon helping us understand the futility to living our lives for the here and now. What this world offers us will slip through our fingers when our life on earth is over. But, the eternal treasure of heaven is what we can confidently hope for. What are you living for? In Jesus' Kingdom, it's not just about what we do but it's also about why we do it. Jesus looks at the heart of His followers. He longs to see that we are motivated to live a life of righteousness, not to bring honor to ourselves, but to Him.

Pastor Jeff gives a refresher on the work of apostles in the church today. Related to that, he also reports on his time at the Four12 conference.

Here in Cando, ND we had a weekend full of fun community activities. There was a parade, games on main street, live music, food, and much more. As part of this celebration, our church held a service on Sunday morning right on Main Street. The message was based on the results of a survey that Pastor Jeff conducted on the streets on Cando that week.

One of the hardest things to do in life is treating people well when they treat us badly. But that's exactly what life in Jesus' Kingdom is about - doing things radically different than how most of us live. Jesus calls His followers to endure hardship without retaliating and to love those who hate them. This is true righteousness!

This week we look at two more examples of the righteousness that Jesus longs to see in those who are walking with Him in His Kingdom. Jesus talks about the motives behind divorce and the degrees of truthfulness that we maintain in our lives.

In this message Jesus show us two examples of how the righteousness He's seeking in us goes much deeper than the righteousness He sees in the legalistic and religious people of the day. Jesus looks for us to have the same heart and mindset that He does. He shows us what that heart looks like as He talks about the familiar laws against murder and adultery.

Sometimes when we think of the law, we think of rules. The bible has a law in it that God gave us. But Jesus' approach to the law helps us to see it in a much different and better light.

How are we meant to live here on earth even though we are citizens of the kingdom of heaven? How can we welcome others into the kingdom of heaven? These two questions will be answered today as we learn that Jesus has saved us so that we will be the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Who is Jesus' Kingdom given to? Who is most at home in Jesus' Kingdom? Is there perseverance needed in the kingdom life here on earth? What Jesus unlocks for us in the beatitudes is the foundation for what life in His Kingdom looks like during our time on earth.

Many say that Jesus' most famous teaching is his sermon on the mount. But what were the circumstances that Jesus preached this message under? What was going on in Israel? Where did Jesus choose to preach this important message? Who were the people that made up his audience? Today we set up our series on the sermon on the mount by asking this questions.

We wrap up our series on the church today by talking about actions steps that we as a church need to take. We never want to just hear the word of God to be entertained. We have learned so much about the church and now it's time to be the church that God is calling us to be. It's all about His glory!

How should churches handle sin? This is a big question. But God loves His church and has given us good instructions in the bible so that we handle sin correctly. We never deal with sin as a church so that we can kick people out. It's always about seeking restoration for the person and health for the body.

Worship is something that many churches include in their meetings. But, how many churches ask, "What does God want our worship to look like?" The bible actually answers this question very well! Today we look at hindrances to the worship we are meant to give to God. And, we look at several verses that describe what our worship is meant to look like starting with our hearts.

Money? Really? Yes! A healthy church has God's design in every single thing we do. The bible talks much about money and we want to handle our money with God's wisdom. When we do, His church can flourish. If we are sincere about wanting God's Kingdom to grow here on earth, it means that we are eager to worship God with the finances He has blessed us with.

It's necessary in the church to realize that God has given us to each other as a gift. We aren't there to just fill a building but rather fill each other's lives. When we learn to hold each other up and keep each other moving closer to the standards of God, we serve each other well. This process is called accountability. Accountability is practiced best with truth, love, and humility.

Another important part of a church's leaders are deacons. They have a unique role in that they don't steer the ship, but they serve and implement the plans of the leaders as an example for everyone else to follow. Healthy churches need godly deacons! Learn with us today.
