Jackie Carrillo
choose to be
Choose to be is a mindset podcast by and for students. Jackie supports students that don't have the generational experience or community to thrive in college or university. This can make it difficult to feel excited and optimistic about the future. Her podcast is created to help students feel like they have the option to choose their future. To choose to be aware of the systemic barriers that contribute to the difficulty of a first-gen in higher education and to celebrate and use their identity and culture as a unique skill set that can create impact in their studies and larger communities.
