Sandy chats about his disappointment with Man of Medan and how Gears 5 is blowing him away, while Matty is still hooked on good Mario Maker 2 levels and is diving into Celeste again for its final new Chapter. Sandy and Matty aren't as busy with new releases this week, with Matty finally getting his hands dirty with Mario Maker 2 and Sandy seeing just how bad Gears POP! can really be. Press POP to vreem.

After a brief delay to avoid the embargo police, Sandy and Matty are here to fill you in on a host of brand spanking new games including Control, Astral Chain, Remnant: From the Ashes and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. It took 64 episodes but we're finally current.

When Matty and Sandy aren't debating the legitimacy of a Gucci cryptocurrency, the pair check in on the haunting puzzle platformer DARQ and the best smoke spots in Counter-Strike. Gamescom is also this week so the pair also discuss what to look out for. Stay Gucci.

In a distinctly retor-flavoured episode of Checkpoint Chat, Sandy checks in with the original DOOM now that it's out on Nintendo Switch, while Matty takes the chance to break down the first three Super Mario Bros. and explains why they're such classics. No nipple submissions please.

This week on Checkpoint Chat things are the opposite of what they should be, as Matty checks in on the very recent Wolfenstein Youngblood while Sandy visits the much older Hyper Light Drifter among chats about thatgamecompany's Sky and Valve's very old Counter-Strike. Oh and we ban anime. Because someone had to.

It’s blisteringly cold but Sandy and Matty have convened around a heater to talk about swinging through New York as Spider-Man and making devilishly difficult levels in Mario Maker 2. The pair also discuss more about Nintendo’s new Switch plans and cry over the lack of listener questions.

This week on Checkpoint Chat, Matty is back to his destructive bullshit and playing DOTA 2 again, but also making time for a delightful party game where he’s bad at lying. Sandy is deep in Dragon Quest Builders 2 and just loves hitting those blue slimes. Burn your slimes before they rise again

Matty is out again this week, so Sandy is joined by Turtleneck Gang founder Glenn Kisela to talk about pretty much every game that's come out in the past five years. Seriously Glenn has been catching up. Keep those Oprah memes in check.

WE'RE BACK! The busy month of June is nearly behind us, but Matty found a lot of time to play Sekiro and Crypt of the Necrodancer, while Sandy dived into Cadence of Hyrule and hit the apex in F1 2019.  Matty is abandoning us again though how rude.

It's E3 week and you know what that means! Wild, inaccurate guesses for each of the press conferences, as Sandy and Matty both gush about their dream reveals and first looks at some new games.  What are your wildest guesses? Let us know!

We're back from a small week break and better than ever! Matty has finally plunged into Sekiro and is really damn good at it, while Sandy loved shooting foul-mouthed aliens in Void Bastards. News is also packed this week as E3 approaches fast! If you listen really loudly, you can almost see this podcast.

READY FOR THE APOCALYPSE? You shouldn't be, as Matty and Sandy dive into the disappointing sequel Rage 2 and breakdown how many of its elements just don't work. The pair also discuss just ridiculous a Microsoft and Sony partnership sounds, and then answer just one single question. Just one. We're sad.

The releases have finally slowed down for a week, letting Sandy dive head first into Sekiro Shadows Die Twice for death after death after frustrating death. Speaking of, Matty is back to his bullshit in Celeste as he tackles the hardcore B-Sides, and the pair check in on a busy week of video game news. Just keep walking...and shooting.

Still not over that awful Sonic trailer? Neither are we, but Sandy makes some space to talk about a much better zombie shooter in World War Z, while Matty is still hacking away at Days Gone. WE REACHED 50! This week on Checkpoint Chat we're celebrating without cake, finally getting the chance to delve into both Katana Zero and SteamWorld Quest as they fight for your attention in a packed April. Matty is neck deep in Resident Evil 2 finally as well, and just waiting got X to give it to him. What should we do for 100? Definitely not lying cake.

It's a quiet week at Checkpoint Chat, but only because Matty and Sandy are playing lots of games that they can't talk about yet. Matty did scale Celeste finally and Sandy is jazzed about Jedi Fallen Order, so don't leave just yet. We also have a lot of Red Bull. A LOT.

This week on Checkpoint Chat, Matty is back (and married!) and he's brought with him thoughts on Celeste and how great the 2018 platformer is.
