Without clear roles and responsibilities, you can have a “too helpful team” - they want everyone to succeed so much that they duplicate efforts and spin their wheels trying to make sure the work gets done.

For most challenges in our lives, there was likely a time where we wished to be exactly where we are today. And we knew at that time that it would not be all sunshine and lollipops, but we felt confident that being there would be worth it. Let’s use that lens to shift our days.

It’s not enough to have the right person for the roles and responsibilities. You also have to build the right team for the leadership - we call this Team Design.

One of Humanity’s default settings is to think, “I can do it better.” And one of leaderships default settings is, “just do your job and trust me.” Let’s bridge the gap between those 2.

Today is Ash Wednesday - the beginning of one of my favorite seasons of the year, Lent. Lent is the 40 days leading up to Easter where Christians across the world fast, pray, and give in order to make the world and themselves better

Tomorrow starts Lent - a season of 40 days where people make a conscious effort to be better and put the blame on their church :)

It’s easy to think we are too busy or not gifted enough to join in our communities. Your life will be much richer - go give your gifts. The time will appear. The avenue will open.

Once success is within our grasp, the silent killer slinks in - the focus of building becomes less about who we serve and more about using our power to serve our own egos.
