1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬ ”We know that God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, for God’s Son holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them.“ One of the grave dangers of losing God’s presence is that our spiritual covering is removed and we become spiritually exposed.

1 Samuel‬ ‭4‬:‭22‬ ‭ESV‬‬ ”And she said, “The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured.”“ A lot of things go terribly wrong when God’s presence departs. The story of Eli and his sons is a great example.

1 Samuel‬ ‭15‬:‭22‬ ‭NLT‬‬ ”..What is more pleasing to the Lord: your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams.“ Saul was a king that had a problem with obeying God’s instructions and it robbed him of God’s presence.

Judges‬ ‭16‬:‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬ ”Then she cried out, “Samson! The Philistines have come to capture you!” When he woke up, he thought, “I will do as before and shake myself free.” But he didn’t realize the Lord had left him.“ ‭‭ Samson was born a Nazirite which means that he was set apart and consecrated to God. God’s presence was with Samson but he took it for granted until God’s presence left him.

Joshua‬ ‭7‬:‭12‬ ‭ERV‬‬ ”..I will not continue to help you or be with you unless you destroy everything I commanded you to destroy.“ The ultimate experience that anyone can have is to have God’s presence while the worst is for God’s presence to be absent. What happens when God’s presence departs?

Psalms‬ ‭16‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ ”You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.“ We find joy, divine provision and so many amazing benefits when we stand and abide in God’s presence!

Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ ”When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.“ God’s protection is guaranteed for those who dwell in His presence, even when they go through fire!

Deuteronomy‬ ‭20‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬ ”..Do not be afraid as you go out to fight your enemies today! Do not lose heart or panic or tremble before them. For the Lord your God is going with you! He will fight for you against your enemies, and he will give you victory!’“ ‭‭ When God’s presence is with you, God will fight your battles for you, both seen and unseen.

Psalms‬ ‭84‬:‭4‬ ‭AMP‬‬ ”Blessed and greatly favored are those who dwell in Your house and Your presence..” When you carry God’s presence, you will find favour and you will be highly sought after. It doesn’t matter where you are or which country you live in, people will come looking for you, just like they looked for Joseph and David.

“The Lord was with Joseph, and he was a successful man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.“ ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭39‬:‭2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ How can someone who is a slave be called a successful man? The words ‘slave’ and ‘success’ are two words that just don’t go together. Yet, Joseph was successful even though he was a slave.

Exodus‬ ‭33‬:‭15‬ ‭ “If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here.“ God instructed Moses to lead the Israelites out to the promised land but He (God) wasn’t going to go with them. Guess what? Moses refused!

As Christians we all know the importance of getting saved. But after we get saved then what? Is getting saved the only thing in God’s redemption program for us? 2 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭18‬ ‭ESV‬‬ says “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”

How can we serve God with a perfect heart? In I Chronicles‬ ‭28‬:‭9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬, David was advising his son Solomon on how to serve God and he said “And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately. Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind. For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought. If you seek him, you will find him. But if you forsak...

When God wants to assess a person for any purpose at all, God looks at the heart. 1 Samuel‬ ‭16‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬ says “…The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

If Jesus were to judge us today based on what we’ve done this year, will we receive a pass mark or will we fail woefully?   1 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭31‬ ‭AMP‬‬ says  “But if we evaluated and judged ourselves honestly [recognizing our shortcomings and correcting our behavior], we would not be judged.”

Acts‬ ‭17‬:‭31‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ “because He has set a day when He is going to judge the world in righteousness by the Man He has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.” ‭‭ Somehow, most of us Christians think of Jesus only as our Lord and Saviour. But one day, the role of Jesus is going to transition from that of being our saviour to being our judge.

Have you ever wondered to yourself whether it's actually worth it—living right as a Christian, staying committed to Jesus, and serving God? What's really in it for you anyway? Peter expressed a similar concern to Jesus in Matthew chapter 19. Matthew‬ ‭19‬:‭27‬ ‭TPT‬‬ says “Then Peter blurted out, “Here we are. We’ve given up everything to follow you. What reward will there be for us?”” ‭‭

Our work is going to be judged based on our faithfulness. So is Jesus going to find us faithful or unfaithful? Matthew‬ ‭24‬:‭45‬-‭46‬ ‭GNT‬‬ says “Who, then, is a faithful and wise servant? It is the one that his master has placed in charge of the other servants to give them their food at the proper time. How happy that servant is if his master finds him doing this when he comes home!”

Many people believe that the people who work the hardest and who do mighty miracles, signs and wonders will get the biggest reward from God. However, ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭2‬-‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬ says “If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. 1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭13‬ ‭NLT‬‬ says “But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person’s work has any value.” One of the ways that your work for God will be tested to determine whether it has any value is through your motives. So what are your motives for serving God?

1 John‬ ‭2‬:‭28‬ ‭TPT‬‬ says “And now, dear children, remain in him, so that when he is revealed we may have joyful confidence and not be ashamed when we stand before him at his appearing.” One of the things that can make us ashamed at the coming of Jesus is not being prepared with ‘extra oil’.
