The good old days are usually thought of as times of the past. The days of growing up with glass instead of plastic. With milk delivered to your doorstep, and drinking water out of the hose. But my take is a bit different and that's what this week's podcast is about.

This weeks podcast is almost all fishing. From new rules handed down by the FWC, recent fishing reports, both inshore and offshore, and a new lure I'm pretty excited to try.

When you don't have a boat or access to the water from shore, give bridge fishing a try here in the Florida Keys. There are lots of great places to wet a line and you never know what you might catch.

The title is twofold. This is the last episode of season 2 on Catch You Outdoors. Season 3 begins next week. It's also a reference to the quiet time here in the Keys and other Florida locations with the end of summer. Locals get a breather.

The title came about after reading an article that said the Florida Keys are made up of 1700 islands. I kind of doubted that, but then found evidence that that's actually a pretty good number. In this podcast are also some observations of why people come to the Keys, continue to come, and sometimes don't go home. We many soon need 1700 islands to hold them all.

Jimmy Buffett's passing hit me kind of hard. I've been a long time fan. Yep, since 1973. This podcast is a bit of reminiscing about his music and the amazing sendoff he was given in Key West on Sunday September 3rd.

This one is a bit shorter than most, but what I have to say about the weather down here in the Keys can be said like this... It's nice.
