Capt. Marty's Outer Banks Fishing Report & Stories

So far so good this week on the fishing front but we have to keep our eyes on the weather with the storm that will be impacting the gulf over the next few days. What does that have to do with us? I'll explain...

Great weekend of fishing all over! Everyone is back in the meat and it is a beautiful thing! Fall fishing is some of the best fishing in my opinion!

Fishing has gotten back to the normal fall routine!! Great catches in all areas and the weekend may not be too shabby either!

Fishing returned to the fall norm yesterday after all the windy and wet weather we just had.... but will it stay that way? That is the question leading into more uncertain weather conditions in the days and weeks ahead!

Two words: Gully Washer!  That's what we had yesterday. Some pier and surf fishing took place but not much else! I do have a fun fact in today's report that you may or may not have known! It pertains to something we have the most of in Northeast North Carolina...

The storm is keeping offshore fishing to a halt but there is still fish to catch. Listen and I'll tell you where to find them.

The wind kept the offshore fleet in but it apPIERs as if the pier fishing was pretty good, with a quick shoutout to the Avon pier! Yum Yum, get the DRUM!!

Seems like we are marching to the beat of the same drum these days!! Operative word there being DRUM!  Fish being caught all over, but its DRUM that has everyone talking right now!

One word to describe the fishing lately: GREAT!! All fronts reporting great catches of a variety of fish!! This is a great set up for fall fishing on the Outer Banks!

As we wrap up the final few days of August the fishing is beginning to pick up ever so slightly. Fall can't get here fast enough! I believe it to be the best time on the Outer Banks, especially for the fishing!

Wrapping up the weekend with the results from the Virginia Beach Tournament out of Rudee Inlet (tell me what the top three boats have in common) and how fishing was on all fronts. I personally had a great weekend with my apple trees and I'll tell you a little bit more about that as well!

Things are pretty much business as usual on the fishing front, the catches are relatively the same but there are a few differences....

Fishing has been business as usual lately but I do have some great information about a fishing tournament in Hyde County on Saturday August 31st, all to benefit the Hyde County Volunteer Fire Department!

Seemed like a pretty solid day on all the Outer Banks fishing fronts! No super spectacular news, but great fishing all over.
