The life of faithfully following Jesus begins with, is sustained by, and looks forward to continually abiding in God. As we seek to honor God in this life and await the life that is to come, we must remain connected to Him. Today we’re going to discover how we can abide in Christ and what we can look forward to in doing so.

Imagine the very first Easter. The tomb is empty, and you wonder, “Where is Jesus, where’s the Lamb of God?” It could feel hopeless. Yet, from Genesis to Revelation we see God’s plan to restore humanity and all Creation revealed to give us hope. A key to understand God’s plan is to consider the question, “Where’s the Lamb?” When you find the Lamb, you will find hope. 

Good Friday is a time for reflection, recalibration, and renewal. It is an opportunity to remember and even rejoice why Jesus is worthy to be worshiped. As John describes this heavenly scene, angels and God’s people declare praise and worship, “Worthy is the Lamb…” Today, we are reminded why Jesus is worthy of our worship.

God is seeking those who worship Him in Spirit and in truth (Jn. 4:23-24). We need both the Holy Spirit and the truth of God’s word to be the worshipers God desires, and to represent him to a world that needs to know God.

Continuation is key to on-going development. We would describe healthy people as those who continue to grow (in learning, strength, skill sets, discipline, etc.), as opposed to remaining stagnant or regressing. As followers of Jesus we must continue to grow as disciples and do what the Lord calls us to do.

As followers of Jesus, we want to be disciples who make disciples of Jesus. Engaging people for Christ, as empowered by the Holy Spirit, can be the first step in making disciples. Let’s discover how.

Through the truth of His Word and with the help of our community of faith, God wants us to grow as disciples who have assurance in what we believe. Disciples with confident faith help others learn about and receive the gospel of Jesus.

The gospel message of Jesus is distinct and unlike any other message the world has to offer. We must not stray from that message and we must live it out if we desire to see our community saturated and transformed by the gospel.
