Brooknom's world

Is this a future prediction of the outcome of the excessive want of the king of Babylon? I cover this and broader truth covered in these verses.

God Instructs Habakkuk to write down what he hears on tablets, more than likely tablets of stone. I wonder what has happened to these tablets and if they are preserved buried somewhere in the middle east. The idea of justification by faith is addressed in verse 4, Thus showing this isn't just a New Testament concept.

In this freestyle session I Wrap up the book of Habakkuk chapter 1

In This episode I explore the question, what did the Babylonian kings know about Gods use of them as the hand of his judgment?

This is an addition to my video don't give up. Discipline is one area where we probably focus on the least, which actually requires the most attention. Hebrews 12.1 ‭'Wherefore‭ seeing we also‭ are‭‭ compassed about‭‭‭ with so great‭ a cloud‭ of witnesses‭, let‭‭ us‭ lay aside‭‭ every‭ weight‭, and‭ the sin‭ which doth so easily beset‭ ‭us‭, and let us run‭‭ with‭ patience‭ the race‭ that is set b...

no big description just hear me out

How much do we actually believe and trust God? Next Time you pray ask yourself do you actually trust and have faith in the fact that this prayer can absolutely be answered. Not that we can claim it will be answered that would put us in the all-knowing category, that belongs to God alone. Whether it is in God's will to take our life in the direction of our prayer request is known by God not us, our...

When you sin what do you do next? This is a fairly simple question or it should be. I have personally for years gone through this back and forth and it can be very tumultuous. The tendency is to give up and this is the exact point of sin to bring death and destruction. We can't walk in darkness and claim fellowship with God, We also can not fall to the trap of thinking we will never have to confes...

In come the Chaldeans, namely Nebuchadnezzar Gods vessel for judgment upon the nations. The level of violence and brutality was turned up considerably under Neo Babylonian rule, which was more than likely unexpected by the worlds inhabitants.

Why was it such a surprising thing for God to tell Habakkuk to prophesy of the rise and take over of the Chaldeans via Babylon their seat of power. The Babylonians with help from the Medes sacked Assur the spiritual seat of the Assyrian empire and then Nineveh the very seat of Assyrian power. To this point Babylon was a proxy...

In the garden eve blames the serpent and Adam points to eve. As much as things change they stay the same, much of what we the body of Christ see as problems with world wickedness is actually a problem with our rebellion.

The Prophet Habakkuk was grieved at what he saw both from the Assyrian empire and the southern kingdom. He wants to see God intervene, and wonders why Gods hand has been stayed for so long.

Not 100% But definitely better than I was

Feeling under the weather

Calling all The soldiers in Gods army not to be cliché but the battle is on. Whatever holds you back, whatever hinders you lets all pray together and get to work. I have in my few short years on this planet not seen so many people with so many questions on eternal issues. Being representative's of God  We should definitely be at the forefront of this war and battle for truth.

Today I cover my second substack article about those who walk away from the faith

In a Seemingly odd turn of events God has a conversation with Jonah. In this conversation the mercy and long suffering nature of God is on full display.

Why did the ninevites  repent so seemingly quickly?  why was Jonah so convinced that they would repent thus causing him to flee? I asked these questions and pose some possible answers in this episode.

God often brings the wisdom of the world low with very simple thing's. In this episode I make a loose connection to the books of Jonah referencing Balaam from numbers chapter 22. Also in this episode I bring to bear a current topic in the big picture of a greater biblical idea.

These are just some of my fleeting thoughts loosely connected through the book of Jonah thus far.

we see in the book of nahum what happened to Assyria after they went back on their word to God and returned to violence. Could it be that this would have been the fate of Assyria roughly 100 years earlier had they not listened to Jonah. How differently would things have played out? and what happened to Assyria eventually? int this episode I cover these question's.

Jonah goes to the city of Nineveh and preaches to the great city. The people in an odd turn of events (humanistically speaking) repent without hesitation. This seems to be a stark contrast from what is going on in Judah and Israel, and seems to be very similar to the gospel being accepted by gentiles more readily than the jews during the time of Christ.

It is sometimes thought that belief in the Bible and its instruction is without reason. Jordan Bernt Peterson is a Canadian clinical psychologist who has been making the rounds of philosophical debate among the prominant thought circles of this age. He has been increasingly interested and intrigued by the Bible and its validity. Now let it be known that he could denounce the Bible and everything &...

https://brooknom.substack.com/p/can-you-trust-it  So I have decided to enter the realm of articles particularly concerning the biblical. I can not promise you these articles will be any good. I have no idea if my thoughts will translate well to written form, or if I can properly articulate my thoughts in that way. What I wish to do is to permeate as many spaces as I possibly can across the in...

Who was king of Assyria during the time of Jonah. In this episode I cover this with some historical context to the best of my ability. My thoughts on this are not to be misconstrued as dogma I do however believe I am correct on this matter.
