“Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:18‬. This should give us great caution in addressing the matter of pride. 

Every time a tragic event happens we are all shocked at how anyone could do such a thing whatever that thing is. While I am grieved at wicked acts whatever they might be I am not shocked. Are we shocked because our starting premise is incorrect, I believe this is the case.

This subject produces much anger and tension From People of differing beliefs and I get it we don't all think alike. This isn't necessarily for people who don't believe the Bible, not that it isn't applicable just that if you do not believe the Bible it is not your guide and to you holds no authority. We have decided in our own earthly wisdom that we have the best solutions. And as far as I can tell this isn't working out well societally, We have wrought death destruction and chaos. So at what point do we finally repent and come before God humbly for true wisdom.

Habakkuk continues in his prayer covering the exodus of Israel, and their habitation in the promise land after driving out the heathen nations that resided there.

Have we misunderstood the fear of the Lord? Have we had a proper reverance for God? As I read Proverbs 1:7 I asked Myself these questions and reevaluated the Biblical Concept of  the Fear of The Lord.

The Babylonians are lifted up they believe themselves untouchable and in that pride, they build up the ground for their own destruction.

We are now at the stage where we are debating basic foundational truths. This is not an accident this is a willful effort to establish freedom from the constraints placed on us by God. Man is on a continual search for complete freedom, not in the physical sense but in the spiritual sense.

Today I explore the speed at which the Neo Babylonian empire came to its end.

HUMBLED-. Made low; abased; rendered meek and submissive; penitent. This has been my experience the last two or three weeks. My view of myself isn't accurate when compared to what the Bible has exposed in me.

There is a concerted effort in my opinion to get christians to abandon the foundation of our beliefs which is the Bible. I can debate and make very good points but ultimately I have no power, what Gods word can and does do is beyond what I in my own power can accomplish.

“a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;” Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬. Many times the Bible is speaking but we aren’t listening. In this instance this truth was right in my face for years and i wasn’t paying attention at all.

Is this a future prediction of the outcome of the excessive want of the king of Babylon? I cover this and broader truth covered in these verses.

God Instructs Habakkuk to write down what he hears on tablets, more than likely tablets of stone. I wonder what has happened to these tablets and if they are preserved buried somewhere in the middle east. The idea of justification by faith is addressed in verse 4, Thus showing this isn't just a New Testament concept.
