Dylan forgot to bring an SD card, so he had to hook the mics into the recording gear.  Then hook the recording gear up to a TV.  Then he reversed the polarity from the TV to the sky box before re-soldering the sky box input to the output, enabling the recording to be sent to the satellite dish.
