The Israelites continue their sin cycle. Turn from God and worship other idols, punishment, crying out for help, and God raising up judges to rescue them. Today, we often fall into a similar cycle. We may not have carved idols, but we so easily turn to worship other things. While God provided deliverers to rescue the Israelites, today, we know we have a great Deliverer.

As we begin our summer series through Judges, we start with an overview of Israel's slow slide into compromise. So often, sin doesn't start with one significant failing, but rather a barely noticed chain of compromises. How can we learn from the Israelites so that we don't follow the same pattern today?

As Paul appears before the Sanhedrin, he makes a bold claim: "I have lived my life before God in all good conscience to this day." As Christians, the way we live matters. We may not find ourselves on trial for our faith, but the world is watching. What is your life saying?
